Liverpool have matched their runs in previous seasons and have lost 2 games in the league all season so that’s utter bull.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Read the point I was making and stop having a convo with yourself. Previous Liverpool sides were able to reel off 14-15 wins in a row to keep pace with City. I’m not sure this one can. Maybe I’ll be proven wrong. Time will tell.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
With Salah back and a fully fit squad I think we’ll keep pace with city.

I mean we have all season to date.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes but City have a habit of being good for the 1st half of the season and then really putting the foot down in the 2nd half of the season winning most games.

It remains to be seen if this Liverpool side (not past ones) can keep pace.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well surely the same applies to city too
----------------------------------------------------------------------
City do it year after year though. The Liverpool of even 2 years ago would not have been comfortably outplayed in any game like they were yesterday and would have beaten United at Anfield. Still a good team but a level below the side of 2 years ago and 2018-20.

That doesn’t mean they do it again though.

They may well do, we shall see.

Thought you played ok yesterday and it was 2 silly errors which gifted the game to Arsenal. But yes they were marginally the better side

This had a similar feel to the City game from the 18/19 season when Sane scored the winner to cut Liverpools lead.

Too often have this Liverpool side failed to take the momentum opportunity in those big title games.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don’t think this Liverpool side are anywhere near as good as the 18/19 team though.

If City go on one of their customary runs I can’t see Liverpool or Arsenal for that matter keeping pace.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I agree with this, I’d certainly take an 84-85 point season for what it’s worth.

Which is why I said IF City go on one of their runs the other 2 are unlikely to match them.

I get it, I think we’ll run them pretty close though.

Before the game we were 5 points behind Liverpool.

People already talking of a three horse race for the title. Villa are also only five points away now.

I personally wouldnt write off Spurs' chances who are in 5th position. A lot of games to play for.

This is the worst I’ve seen Liverpool play since we won 2-1 vs them at emirates in their title winning year. Liverpool don’t have the edge for the title and neither do Arsenal. A title winning team doesn’t make 3 big mistakes defensively in the same game. It’s City’s to lose as usual.
