Some really good performances tonight.

Yeah I agree we were by miles the better team. As I said on the match day thread I liked that right forward slot for Gelhardt. Gives us something different as all others are RW.

Joseph looked like he could step in for Bamford as well. Really shows our depth at this level.

Good rotation of players, awful conditions...there will be some sore, tired players after that bus ride home. Great support as always, feel for those that will get home at 4 or 5 in the morning, also feel for the Plymouth groundskeeper...the pitch took a beating.

You just know that if we get that early goal the 2nd and 3rd soon follow but when we get frustrated and thwarted by a combination of determined opposition defending and slack finishing we invariably get suckered cheaply like we did tonight with the Plymouth equaliser.

Truth be told the second half and extra time we looked a notch above Plymouth for all their brave endeavour we were far stronger and I'm glad I witnessed tonight's game and enjoyed seeing some very impressive and encouraging performances by most if not all the Leeds players who wore the shirt tonight.

Don't they charter a plane for the long away trips, Steross?

That was not an easy fixture tonight and the terrible weather made it more difficult, but thought we were very professional, playing as a team with confidence and high fitness levels.

Someone is going to get an absolute tanking from this team

Thought Joffy did look quite good when he came on.

I must say although we shackled him quite well tonight that Whitaker still looks a class act and I'll be amazed if he isn't snapped up by an EPL side in the summer... hopefully us!!!

Thought Gruev was brilliant tonight, and Rodon was his usual sound self.
The entire team played well and the game was played in a very sporting manner.
A final thought, I thought the ref was excellent.

He was very good wasnt he, understood the conditions, and reffed accordingly

I know VAR is here to stay, but the game flows a lot better without it.

Good question, I don’t know the answer.
Agree with the comments about the ref…had a good game.
VAR - it’s a great tool, but they use it too forensically…quick look at the replay, no need for lines, make a decision within 30 seconds.

Watched it on record after work. Deserved win, by far the better side over 120 mins but held to a 1-1 draw after 90 which thankfully wasn't more dropped league points. Gruev was excellent, they all played well. Thought Joseph looked good first 30 but fizzled out. On to Chelsea or Villa. Capable of giving Chelsea a scare, Villa too as they have other priorities.

Though agree with Greuv, Joseph and Gelhardt have to say I thought Piroe kept giving the ball away. Following on from our discussion on Ayling, I checked Leeds press to see how assessment and he is marked low across the board. I felt quite frustrated at times.

Shout out for Sam Byram who had a good game on his proper side.

Agree with the comment about Byram. How refreshing to play a RB as a RB and a LB as a LB even if Firpo does seem to go missing from his position quite often.

Apart from that one shot I don't remember Piroe being involved much either.

Not a lot to disagree with there.

and agree about the ref, thought he had a great game, wasn't stop starty, let play go on and understood the conditions especially where it came to tackles..

talking of tackles, Archies tackle late in second half was best I've seen in a long time.

only slight disappointment for me was we seem to let Plymouth in again, really shouldn;t have gone to a replay, and really shouldn;t have gone to extra time, but thats the FA Cup and fair play to our opponents for staying in there (if a little lucky)

I do Outwood, but not in a positive way, gave the ball away when he did have possession. Noticed him helping the midfield out on a couple of occasions which is one positive of note but other than large periods when he was anonymous, then when he did pop up giving the ball away and the shot early doors and a very ambitious shot through the crowd later in the game, that was it.
Not sure what LIW saw.

Again thought Coops did OK but if you look at their goal you can question his positioning and whilst perhaps the whole team were caught out he is closest and perhaps could have done more to prevent it.
I suppose Cooper is singled by the original poster out because of his lack of game time but Rodon was as good.

As some are moaning that I didn't post last night here's my opinion,

First half we were poor, very slow second to every ball, passing played us into trouble and got cut open far too easily.

Second half much improved, but with the usual problems, can't finish teams off, ease off, fanny about and then concede when under no pressure.

Extra time fortunately the fresh Summerville was on and against the tiring Plymouth defence won the game for us. As someone mentioned after 90 mins it was 1-1 against a poor Plymouth team.

I would have given the Ref motm if I'd been the pundit last night.

Greuv starting to look a real bargain.

Low - Argyles defence were very organised not poor.

Just read Phil Hay on the Athletic who said that we do charter planes for the long distance games, Steross

We've got charters for most of the away games in this congested bit.

Glad to see our bench getting playing time, can only help in our autos chase.
The squad will be fresh for the Rotherham game and I see us putting another 3 points in the bank.

Also good to see Joseph put in a shift. haven't seen enough of him, thank goodness for cup games.
