1. Yes, fair point.
2. Suck it up, all teams have to do it. Plymouth had double the miles we had.
3. We supposedly have the best squad in the history of 2nd division football. No excuse
4. Same as 3
5. Suck it up, all teams have decisions that go for and against them. We got lucky v Leicester and the Bamford handball v Rotherham
6. Same as point 5, for and against all the teams.
7. Yes, that comes as standard being Leeds.
8. Yes. If Summerville was a Uboat it would have sunk most weeks.
9. Wouldn't say they're that lucky. Again, Ourselves and Leicester have been pretty jammy at times. You make your own luck.
10. Yeah that's seriously unlucky on our part. 1 very good team is unfortunately going to miss out. Had Sheff Utd and Burnley of last season been in this league, they'd be playoffs at best.
Shaun has hit the nail on the head.
If we end up with 10 being the difference, then it’s august and September that killed us. We drew to Cardiff, Sheff wed, West Brom, hull. A couple of results different and we’re in a great position
And the worst excuse of them all, should we not make it via the autos is the one trotted out by Lowfield time and time again, the one about us always bottling it in the play-off.
There was always going to be a bump or two along the road and we may have a few more to come. Can never be sure about anything in football but I do know that Farke will be doing everything he can to keep the lads focused and thinking about the next game and not worrying about events elsewhere. Leave that to the fans.
Point 5 & 8 I know I've spouted on match day threads.
Point 9, Ipswich are as good as us, Leicester, Saints.
Table says so. Plus, unless your concussed eyes do too.
Point 10, imagine if Everton or Forest or both get
relegated alongside Sheff U and or Burnley. If that
happens, next season will be as tight as this. Maybe
more so.
For me (and this is why I wanted us to build a
behemoth of a quality squad beyond what we have),
I want us to bully our way back up this season.
This is our best chance. Money is being lined up
for that eventuality. I think the club is taking a huge
gamble by not doing more in the window. It could
backfire. If we don't go up, what will next season
look like? Nothing in this division is a given. It could
be the toughest league in Europe on a weekly basis.
So speaking of excuses, if we don't go up, it's not
on Farke. It's on the club for not taking the opportunity.
* Forgot to mention, an additional but major point
why I think next season will/could be tougher:
We don't go up, we lose Summerville for sure.
Probably Rutter, Gnonto, Anthony, and Rodon.
I could see Firpo going back to Spain (no worries
there though). Would Roberts want to stay?
It will also be very tough to hold on to Archie.
He is going to be the hottest commodity in the
summer. So many teams will be sniffing.
The want out loanee crowd. We have to manage
them anyway, ins, outs, etc. Point is, we have
a complicated summer ahead. If we go up, less so.
If we remain in the Championship, with less money
from parachute and a substantial exodus, hold tight.
Only one reason Leeds won’t go up and that’s the loan contracts. It was like starting the season with a points deficit.

Squad is best in league,
Here’s one for ya:
The ball was only in play for 22 minutes and 33 seconds in the first half, not surprisingly the lowest in the first half of any of Leeds United's Championship matches this season.
Due to dirty tactics I guess.

22 minutes is shocking. The lowest in the Premier league last season was 43 minutes in a Newcastle game and that kicked up a fuss.
Said to dad whilst watching it that it felt very stop start, had no idea just how bad.
No team is going to win every game until the end of the season. We may get other games like this
Jeez, as if I don't know before I logged on
No excuses needed, was an away point following a brilliant run of league wins, it happens.
said so many times the top four will all have poor results in the run in.
we know if we keep winning we won't have a problem.
this is why I've never bought this 'must win' thing, certainly not in Nov, Dec, because nobody can fully predict other results.
We're well placed, we've a good squad and a good manager. keep it together and we'll be promoted.

prob more to do with Greenwoods free kick pal
I see Leicester City are in trouble with breaching the FFP rules last season taking them way over the allowed amount of losses and are almost certain to get a points deduction like Everton. Whether that's this season the points deduction happens which I don't see why it
shouldn't we will see but if they get at least 6 points
knocked off them then we are a point above them in 2nd
and 2 points behind Ipswich.
It's a funny old game, twists and turns but for all Leeds's chaos at the beginning of this season our owners have kept the club on the right side of these FFP rules which may in the end be a crucial reason we secure automatic promotion this season.

Have to disagree with you, Kebab, and quite a few posters who think our players are better than most others in this league.
Like any players, they are great on their day, but at the moment, for example, we are seeing Cree struggle for form. We see Georgi, Piroe and Bamford failing to hit the target from good positions.
We also know there are opposition teams can manage our pacy front line, and while we have plenty of skillful players, we are not as efficient in front of goal as we should be.
I was impressed by Huddersfield's set pieces at the weekend. Why do we not have players who can strike the ball with a little whip and depth? If you look at our set pieces, we are 4 - 5 goals behind our competitors:

The notion of 'best squad' does not always equate with 'best team on the day'. I'm not even sure if it is helpful to label our players as 'best squad'.
Far too often, we have carried that label and fallen at crucial moments. History does not need to repeat itself.

FFP rules are killing the game, they should just make it a simple salary cap, franchise the clubs so that any debt is the owners and not the clubs. Just hope we haven't fallen foul to FFP...it's got to be tight.

100% and I have made a similar point regarding when the lateJack Walker bankrolled his beloved Blackburn who upset the applecart at the time and won the EPL in 1995 which I think today he would not have been able to do with these restrictions that we all can see are just designed to keep the big rich clubs continually
at the top.
I hope there is a legal challenge by an ultra rich tycoon who owns a club outside this current cabal
whereby like you say if it's the owners money that they want to spend billions on say Accrington Stanley
then that should be their legal right and any restiction imposed on that legal right to be free to spend their own money on their football club must be a restiction of trade I'd have thought.
Watching Shef. Utd get another tonking currently 5 nil down at home after 39 minutes and their fans sick of these tyoes of thrashings walkiing out proves the EPL is just not a level playing field and it's been a waste of time them getting promoted as they are clearly going to be relegated with less than 24 points like Burnley and possibly Luton unless another hefty points deduction to Everton and Forest helps them stay up.
Will we be like Shef Utd and Burnley next season if we are promoted and just fodder for three quarters of the EPL??? I certainly hope not but wouldn't be surprised either.

Can I add to your analysis how many goals do we score from the bench, we simply do not have the depth to change the outcome of games.
And I ask a couple of questions, why doesn't Farke trust his bench to the extent that he will make changes earlier in the game and when players are clearly struggling for form like Summerville why doesn't he rest them completely.
I don't think we are the best squad, second or maybe even third.
Agree with you Heart & Dennis.
