Newcastle away and Liverpool away I think are the two fixtures we may fail to score in this season - that’s the only thing with records like this, you know it’s coming it’s just when.

Fulham might contain us as well, wouldn’t be shocked if that one ended 0-0

Exactly. We wouldn't have a record like this if he hadn't overseen a goal away to Newcastle in a 6-1 humiliation last year. He doesn't get the credit he deserves.

Perhaps but I'd be shocked if you didnt score against Newcastle and Fulham if you play even at 80% of how you did yesterday? Liverpool could defo be a toughie but they wont sit deep so you'll get chances

We owe those cvnts for sending us out of the cup. We're due a win there but there's something about that fixture. Away, under the lights, televised. I'd love to see us come away with the points but Fulham are a bloody good team.

I did say exactly the same thing about Villa though.

We’ve won our last 7 league games at Craven Cottage, the last time they beat us there was 2011. I can’t see us losing Saturday (famous last words) but at this stage of the season against this level of side a draw tends to feel like a loss and I do fear a schitty 0-0 or 1-1.

Any ideas on the status of other PL clubs for this metric?

We have a dreadful record at Anfield but Liverpool haven't stopped us scoring there for over 7 years (Feb 2017).

What i like about the football under Ange is that teams that you would like to think "we have too much for" we have generally got the results from them. Our losses have been vs Chelsea (9 men) and then in the aftermath of those suspensions and injuries, Villa Wolves and BHA. There have been some poor performance against WHU and Wolves(a) but actually we havent dropped many points against the bottom half teams and have only lost to Chelsea below 9th place.

SO while this goal scoring run counts for nothing, and as someone highlighted, it includes scoring in some heavy defeats, it does point to a pattern of us being able to score against anyone and everyone and this has translated in good points return from the bottom half teams, which is the bread and butter that underpins any decent season.

Will be interesting to see if AnGe can tighten us up at the back whilst keeping the scoring going. That balance isn’t quite there yet, get that right and we might start competing with Arsenal and Liverpool for 2nd place

Any ideas on the status of other PL clubs for this metric?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

3rd best is Liverpool (36) from March 2019 to Feb 2020

4th best Man Utd (36) Dec 2007 to Nov 2008

5th best Brighton (32) March 23 to last December

City are 6th with just 29 from last March. Which is surprising.

Its ironic that we've managed much of this without Harry Kane.

Although Villa were quite defensive against us, they did try to exploit the quick transition counter which is perceived to be our weakness (although I would say we havent conceded many goals from this) BUT what we did well was press them aggressively in their third. That was almost back to early season levels and it showed with the very limited options Villa had on the break. We didn't concede a clear chance although there was the usual last minute slightly desperate defending at times.

Liverpool drew 0-0 with Utd in December .

Think City's last blank was Villa, also December.

Arsenal also lost 2-0 vs WHU in December

So none of them on any real run.

I like the way things are heading. It's disappointing we won't win anything this season but I see it as Ange laying the ground work, teaching the players a new style and building up their mentality. Already we've taken to this quickly but there are still things to iron out and areas to address which is only natural. A year on we can hope this style and mentality will be 2nd nature to a bunch of mainly young players who are only going to get better together with age.

So even if we weren't to buy any new additions in the summer, which we should do, I would still expect this same of set of players to perform a little bit better.

I’d like to see us push the boat out for 2!big players this summer and that’s it. Gallagher and Eze at about £110m would be nice.

Or Nico Williams at about £80m

It’s doesn’t need to be a 4/5 player summer, just improve the starting 11
