Most squads are made up of 3 age groups.

18-23
23-28
28- 32

If the only world class players, we can get are in the upper age bracket, then I'm fine with that.

Varane and Casemiro were. ADM was.

Casemiro was on the slide. He had a few good months last season but he’s been another expensive mistake. Di Maria was forced out of Madrid and didn’t want to be here.

Casemiro wasn't on the slide. Reals decision to sell was an economic one, made by Real and the player. Same with Di Maria and Varane.

All 3 were world cass players when we signed them.

You want your older players to be ones that have been at the club and ideally been a success. Not mercenaries looking for a pay day.

I want us to develop/ sign the best players possible, across all the age brackets.

Of course we don't want mercenaries, but at the same time, the best players cost a lot, especially when we arent where we want to be.

I dont believe he was.

Lets be honest, if we had signed KDB instead, hed have been considered 'on the slide' by some after 2 years with us.

Agreed. Our training/ fitness work needs looking at once Ashworth or an alternative comes in.
