It depends on the grade of injury so he will have a MRI to assess it. With a grade 1 tear it could even be less than 4 weeks but we will need to wait and see. It looked to me as though he was holding the upper part of the thigh rather than the belly of the muscle so I wonder if it is slightly different to a conventional tear.

To be fair it wasn’t the medical team’s confirmation 😄

In PW's interview yesterday he indicated anywhere between 2-4 weeks. Fingers crossed its a swift return and we don't miss his absence.

I agree with, I think it was Fin, about the incident when Cash just pulled away from a Bolton striker running across the goal. It should not have been a penalty if that player had gone down but the chances are that without VAR that ref would have wrongly given a penalty. So a piece of brilliance from Cash but also credit to the Bolton player who did not choose to fall over.

If Gayle is to be out for the rest of the season he will still have made an immense contribution. If Collo is able to return towards the end of March it's difficult to imagine him just carrying on where he left off and if JJ makes a surprise return he is hardly likely to manage more than the odd ten minutes or so. But he could easily score the odd crucial goal. I don't think Waggy is likely to be a prolific scorer and Washington is not likely to be either so we will again in all probability be down to the bare bones up front.

Given the present make-up of the rest of the squad I still feel there are goals in there provided we get no more injuries but for various reasons I believe it to be absolutely crucial that we win this Saturday but mainly because of the psychological lift it will give to the club and its supporters and the psychological blow it will deliver to the rest of the chasing pack given that they will not be playing. A seven point cushion would be brilliant.

How many of you have seen the following petition:

Reading's financial situation has become so bad that they're looking to sell their training facilities to stay afloat. Reading owner apparently invited offers from other clubs with club rivals Wycombe Wanderers making an offer well below its £50 million valuation.

Here's hopeful Wycombe Wanderers don't get their (cheating) grubby hands on the training complex. Simon Jordan has indicated an interest in buying the club. I can't stand how karp businessmen from overseas are continually allowed by the FA to purchase football clubs, let the club fail and not place a sanction on training ground sale as a means to release funds.

Time for John Madejski to make a return.

I’m very meh when it comes to Reading, any team who’s fans took great pleasure in singing about having a party when Derby County die are more than welcome to suffer as we did 2 years ago.Add Wycombe, Coventry, Burton, Leeds and Forest to that list amongst others.

Let’s be honest, all football clubs have a minority element of moronic fans who take joy in other fans suffering. I feel sorry and have sympathy for the Reading fans and community. I'm sure that the vast majority of football fans around the country felt sympathy for Derby’s plight.

Fans just sing these things to wind up the opposition fans. Doubt whether any of it is meant. Only those who want to be offended will be offended.

I do draw the line though where fans sing about deaths and disasters. It might be just a joke to the fans singing but it will very probably be personal to some in the ground. I worked with a guy who was a friend of one of the Leeds fans murdered in Istanbul. He was really upset when Millwall fans arrived at Elland road flying Turkish flags.

I agree Spart, but some fans try to provoke others to cause fights and both Millwall and Leeds have their fair share. Anyone with a modicum of decency wouldn’t take joy in fans being murdered.

Man Utd get the soft draw in the FA Cup semi-final or Putin gets a big majority, which is the biggest fix?

.... and on the theme of taking joy out of other fans suffering, I hope there's a train strike and the M6 is closed on SF snd final days.

Ludicrous to have semi-finals at Wembley. As with play-off finals it's just money talking, the need for Wembley plc to pay off its debts. The great semi-finals have taken place at other stadiums. That Arsenal vs Man u in 1999 at Vulla Park for example, a game for the ages. Cov vs Man U should be at Villa Park. Chelsea vs Man City at Emirates or whatever Spurs' ground is called. The atmosphere is infinitely better.

But, Vidal, 85000 people can go to the semi finals, most of them actually support the 2 teams. Villa Park only holds 40k. WHL holds about that too ... so 45000 extra fans get to watch their team. If (when) we get to a semi final I'll be in with a chance of getting a ticket. Ordinarily, if I wasn't on the FA Council myself, I'd have no chance of getting a ticket to a final.

posted on 17/3/24

Them's the breaks. Keep it authentic and special. In a quarter-final the away team might only get a few thousand tickets. Only the glory hunters benefit from hring a giant soulless venue for the semi-final. If it was us, all or nearly all seaon-ticket holders would get a ticket for a semi-final.

Forget them appealing … we should be appealing! Nowhere near enough!

posted on 18/3/24

Four points sound incredibly lenient and I fail to see how an appeal can be justified. Damn lucky, I say!

Re Terry's comment, some of you may remember that during our darkest days when a certain Forest poster was having a go on our boards I responded by warning him that his club would almost certainly be 'done' at some point. He responded by claiming that Forest had never been and never would be in breach! This should be a warning to all fans who like to gloat over another club's misfortunes.

I refuse to gloat as breaches are not down to supporters, but owners.

So by cheating they get about £100M in TV revenue and a slap on the wrist. Who says cheats never prosper.

Absolutely Spart. QPR were fined after they beat us as Wembley. Around £40m I think but they earned £150m by going up. Its a mad system.

Six wins gets us promoted. Optimistic about beating Northampton but Blackpool would be tougher test, especially if you take into account the injuries.

Any update on Barks? Was mentioned on here he was injured.

Looking at our promotion rivals and form and Peterborough I'd say are our most dangerous rivals to pip us for automatic promotion. Their run in on paper is easier until last match of the season ( Portsmouth )

PW has certainly got the squad playing and deserves a lot of recognition for that. I've been critical of him mid season so more than happy to applaud him for when he's doing well. If only one of our match posters could appreciate Collins in the same way.

Looking forward to the weekend match!

Don't think we'll get any news on injuries until Thursday...if Barks is injured then it's a chance for someone else to step up... same with Reg really...
