If you’re gonna get beaten up/hit anyway, may as well get a good punch in first, at least shock them and make them think twice.

Yeah thats all brave and w.e but hes outnumbered, they could be carrying, and probability is itd make it worse. Reality is theyre doing it for that kind of reaction more than anything. Luckily someone stepped in soon as they spotted what was going on, unfortunately a bit too late but better late than never.

Easy for people to say he just hit him...but, if he scared and not "a fighter" then you lot will never understand what hes going through.

The fact he actually did bend down and do as instructed tells you everything about how frightened he was, and, probably gets incredibly embarrassed now...and I feel for him from a human perspective.

I hope...really hope, he learns how to look after himself, becomes a skilled fighter (boxer..MA etc)...then goes and finds that group and does exactly the same to them as they did to him!!!

When I was a teenager if confronted by a bully I was always told to get my retaliation in first, which I did and in those days it worked. The bullies rarely if ever tried it again.
However, bullies rarely, if ever, carried weapons so worst case scenario was that you might get a hiding. These days though, most of these young thugs carry knives etc mainly because they want to appear hard and tough, which in reality they are neither.
In this particular case, the boy was obviously frightened and gave into the demands. For his behaviour the thug should get at least 12-18months custodial centre, if he has previous then in should be increased incrementally.

We live in a multi cultural society and everybody has the right to go about their daily lives without fear of racist thugs.

I think that’s a bit of a right wing narrative, there’s always been school bully’s, and there’s always been gangs, and I’m pretty sure MOST young people don’t walk around with weapons.

This lad still shouldnt have to fight or run his way to school everyday, just because he's black. The dikhed should be named from the video and the school and/or the police informed and his parents questioned by social services and punished.

Rather than trying to turn this into a political type conversation, why don’t you revisit your comment about the young lad hitting out first.
As previously said, most thugs will just pile in on a smaller adversary and who knows how that might have turned out. Times have changed, whether you like to admit it the the statistics covering the last decade show:

In 2022/23, there were approximately 6.74 million crime offences across England and Wales, compared with just over four million ten years earlier.Knife crime alone has risen by around 16% in the past few years.

Yet we are still a safe country compared to others such as South Africa with Johannesburg & Pretoria. The USA with Detroit, Chicago, Memphis and Oakland.
Brazil with Rio De Janeiro, Sao Paolo. London is safer than all of the above cities plus many more worldwide.

Stop talking facts. I went to Rio De Janeiro twice, both times I lost my phone through pickpocketing.

If they want to see real crime, they should leave London and venture to some of these countries you have mentioned.
