Southampton are the ones to watch now. They are 6 points behind us and 2 games in hand. If they win those 2 (one of which is Leicester) they have caught us up.

Suddenly we look like a mid-table team so if we don’t go up, no-one to blame but ourselves - and Farke in particular. We’ve reverted to being a team that is completely clueless up front – hoping that we may score a goal out of some chaotic kind of confusion in the box rather than any well-worked goal scoring chances. You’re right about the nerves Jonty – we look like a frightened team. But what a time to start falling apart again.

I agree with Maid 100%.

For me, Gnonto and Rutter were the only two causing
Blackburn any problems. Farke brought them both off.

Idiocy.

Farke's on thin ice. He's fcking this up massively.
I also think the pressure has got to him. He's not
as chatty or glib when interviewed. This isn't Norwich.

Too many passes going astray, poor decisions as to wen we should pass or shoot, easy to defend against and disjointed in the box.
Easy ready for opponents. didn't cause Bburn enough problems. End off.

Everyone raves about Gruev

But doing one twos with centre back and keeper, its not hard.

Tries passing it further than 10 yards, and he struggles.

Ends up being a third centre half and just leaves acres of space in midfield.

Not for me, garbage

On this form we get one more point finish 4th and then probably face WBA over 2 legs but it could be Norwich with the winners playing the team that finishes 3 Rd which I now think will be Ipswich but tbh it changes every week so who knows except we seemed to have
"bottled" it, players and Manager, but there's still a slight chance we can pull this off but Farke has to pick a far more pro active side and gameplan to match and make much better substitution choices. Today was a real calamity of errors which there is 9 days to try and rescue things... Maybe the rest will help.

Farke probs done a decent job in the circumstances. Squad not strong enough to get us over the line.
Players are knackered ( same for Fester and Tractors ) and we don't have the quality to bring on. Carrying too many duffers to get the job done. No excuses next year! Oh hold on were skint!

posted on 13/4/24

Thought Roberts and Gnonto looked decent on the right and then those subs totally unbalanced the team. Summerville had three players on him all the time.

Possibly we need the upcoming away games to escape the ER nerves. Long wait now to try again though. As usual, tortuous.

I watched him today, never makes himself available, always positions himself right next to or behind an opponent so he wont get passed to put points ball player to pass to someone else, its really bizarre and he hardly ever gets passed to and most of time once he's passed ball to someone whole play goes backwards.

Remember when everyone was having a go at you, because he missed two games and we didnt win.

Dont think people realise its team sport and 11 players on the pitch 🤦

Looks down when he passes the ball, reminds me of Paul okon, and I hated that b@stard.

Just waiting for the

“he does stuff you dont notice”

Just feck off, am watching game, I can see excatly what he is doing.

Easy one twos with the defence

He's not there reason he's faltering but he adds little if anything to the team.

For first time felt similar about Piroe as well and you just cant have too many of these that are ineffective as then otherwise the whole team becomes ineffective.

I think earlier in season I pointed out that between them Gruev, Kamara and Ampadu just do not score goals.

This means 2 things.

Firstly the rest have to contribute more, secondly we become much easier to play against because opponents know these players arent going to score and so can concentrate on doubling up more on the ones who might.

posted on 13/4/24

Not enough significant midfield contributions when Rutter can't deliver. In Bielsa's promotion team we had Pablo of course backed up regularly by Klich, KP and Harrison so if we do sadly come up short this season I hope there's a thorough evaluation of the teams shortcomings and Farke is given the funds to at least improve things in the creative midfield department.

We don't have a true, creative #10. It's killing us.

posted on 13/4/24

Far too reliant on Summerville as I've said before, problem is teams have worked that out and double up on him. All he wants to do is cut inside and curl it in the corner.

posted on 13/4/24

Summerville limitation is a refusal to use his left foot.
On the rare occasions he goes for the byline he still uses his right foot and then normally has to check back because he can’t find enough room to shoot/cross with his right foot.
I’d either
- make him train with his left foot all week
- swap wings 3-4 times a game. James has the same curling shot. Willy is fine on left also. That way he could get to the byline and put some decent crosses/cutbacks in and vary from his one trick curler

posted on 13/4/24

Lack of goal scorers extends to defence and set pieces. Only 1 goal all season from defence and that was Byram header - today we had a couple of chances for Ampadu and Rodon on set pieces, game like today you need someone to get a scrappy goal from a corner and we just can’t do that

---------------------------------------------------------------------- Summerville was weak today, just constantly stopping on the ball and playing an easy pass back. I’d rather Gnonto and James starting on recent performances

Spot on are set pieces are absolutely abysmal. Every time there is a corner i think we might as well pass it to their keeper

13 corners against Sunderland and 12 today, never looked like scoring from any…Rodon is 6’-4” and gets nowhere near any delivery.

Byram got a couple, Ayling and Cooper I remember scoring and without Googling I’m sure Struijk had more than one.
