Still think he is doing a great job. No one, other than possibly Sandy had us down for taking CL qualification to the wire this season, which is still the most likely outcome.

This side has massive flaws though, huge ones, which is another reason why I think the league has been soft th least few years, a limited side like ours has been 4/5th most the season.

Ange absolutely deserves another season at least. This summer though, either through recruitment or training, he must find the right balance. I love his attacking principles but we’re far too easy to score against and sides have worked it out. Why Bissouma is still starting is an absolute mystery to me, PEH offers more defensive cover. Kulu has to up his game. Solomon - this guy was meant to be out for 3 months initially - where is he? Maddison needs to be more consistent, too many off days - brilliant player but just has off days that really hurt the team.

We are a work in progress, Ange has had 2 windows and clearly not everything is in place yet. The man is doing very well with what he has, but must improve next season

Yesterday was our 8th league defeat of the season and probably our worst performance, how the Hell is anyone trying to spin that as progress?

Overall I’d say he’s done ok, he’s an ok manager, but clearly nothing special and it seems he’s absolutely incapable of adapting when things aren’t going right.

How many managers out there could have done better? We sold Kane, the previous year we finished 8th and were a toxic mess. We didn’t buy an out and out replacement for Kane. We’ve bedded in Vic, VDV, Udogie, BJ, Werner, Maddison - whilst the established players have had to learn his system.

We have had the most disrupted season I can remember in ages in terms of injury, suspension and international football - it’s been a nightmare.

So yes we are very one dimensional currently, but it has mostly worked - no one on earth (Sandy aside) thought we were going to finish above Arsenal, Pool, City - and they are the only sides we were behind Saturday morning and probably Sunday evening.

The football has been a breath of fresh air, but I agree this summer Ange needs to find better balance and a plan B - I think he will. It’s absurd to even consider replacing him at this point - I do t think there are any realistic managers out there that can do better

Jury is out for me. Yesterday was a complete embarrassment. Newcastle have had more injuries than even us and they played us off the park. It wasn’t even a contest. Our players looked clueless and confused. Many of them have got worse as the season has gone on.

I don’t get it with Ange. I just don’t see what gives him so much praise. Is it simply that the football is better than the last five years or so?

If spurs want to take that next step, this is not the guy.

It’s a combination of better football and better results - with the added fact he is doing it without Kane.

I look at the players we have brought in and we have got a lot right - Vic, VDV, Udogie, Maddison, Sarr, BJ, Bentancur are all looking very good most of the time. Porro, Kulu, Biss, Werner, Richy are all limited but certainly not duds.

What I would like to know from those doubting Ange is the following:

Where did you think we would finish this season?
Have you mostly enjoyed the football?
Did you expect us to be the finished article already?

I think it's easy to say we don't have the quality, and in some respects, we don't. But let's look (on paper) at some of the players Ange has. Son (potentially world class), Romero (world cup winner), VDV, Maddison, Bissouma, Bentencur, Kulu. Probably add a few more but all of those are very good players. I'd argue all of those, except for maybe VDV, have got worse as the season has gone on. Ange doesn't seem to be improving players and the team style is rubbish to watch and we defend like kids. What's he doing on the training pitch? Honestly, I don't see anything other than the same shet every week and it's been worked out big time by every team we play. Pretty much every win is a struggle and the losses often convincing hammerings now.

I had hope early in the season, I have very little now. Don't even care about CL football that much to be honest as we just aren't good enough. We need a trophy, but that won't happen.

I think you’re not giving him enough. It’s easy to look at yesterday and Fulham and think that was schitt - because it was, but it has to be balanced over a season. We’re unbeaten against City, Liverpool and Arsenal so far this season and we’ve played 2 of them away already. 4 points off United and 3 off Villa and Newcastle. We have done well against the top sides overall.

How can you mention the fact we have got alot right with our players and then on the other hand say we shouldn't doubt Ange. Do we have good players or not?

I definitely think our performances are not up to scratch at the moment. Even our wins are hard work most of the time.

Our lack of clean sheets and the amount of goals we concede is solely due to Ange insisting on his approach. Teams have worked him out.

Vic and VDV, they look good most of the time.

Bentancur has been good in patches against lower teams (probably due to his injury but it’s a worry)
Bissouma has been good for ten games in two years.
Maddison - jury’s out for me. Started the season so well but time out injured has derailed his whole season. Problem Is that he gets injured most seasons.
Sarr has potential but gives the ball away a lot.
Johnson does it against lower half teams - yesterday a case in point (but it’s his first season so he can get better🤞🏻)
Porro is always going to have those moments of being exposed - especially playing inverted.
Werner misses chance after chance so you can’t rely on him which makes “risk free, no brainer” a ridiculous statement.
Richy is so average it’s a joke - look at the teams he’s scored his goals against this year, I bet they’re all bottom half.
Kulu played well for three months a year ago.
Udogie is young and I really like but is being found out a bit - again, would he be better playing non inverted?

Ange is doing well with what he’s got. We’ve got the players to fight for a Top5 finish and that’s what he’s doing.

If we sign Werner, that tells you everything you need to know. Nothing will have changed.

The issue now is that if we as fans are doubting Ange and his football - so will Levy and they will be more hesitant in backing him (any excuse).

This football needs to quality players who can retain possession and don’t give the ball away cheaply. Will he be given players better than what we have? Does Connor Gallagher take us up a level? Because we have a lot of players who do it against lower teams or for halves of matches here and there - with quality, you get consistency and that’s what we need if we want to achieve something.

I’m sick of hearing things like: Bissouma is a baller - when? For ten games before October?
Bentancur is a Rolls Royce - again, when? For 45mins against Luton and for three months last season? I know he’s been injured and we will see this time next year.

We need at least 4 quality signings - as in, better than what we have - not typical Spurs signings that might be ok in a couple of years or a spell of four games.

I just don’t think there is a manager out there available who could improve on what Ange has. People are acting like our squad should be title contenders, when in fact it is relatively young and inexperienced at the back and has quite a few unsuitable players up top for Ange’s preferred system.

My main criticisms of him are that A) we lack balance between defence and attack - he absolutely has to sort that out. B) he had been getting his attacking combos wrong - Kulu in particular can only really be effective with Richy or another target man up top and it def doesn’t work with BJ and Son being the other 2 as no faaaacker is in the box.

But if he is trialling and erring now to get things right for next year then so be it

----------------------------------------------------------------------
City - 1 game 1 draw
Arsenal - 1 game 1 draw
Liverpool - 1 game 1 win
Villa - 2 games 1 loss 1 win
Newcastle 2 games 1 loss 1 win
United 2 games 1 win 1 draw
West Ham 2 games - 1 loss 1 draw
Brighton 2 games - 1 win 1 loss

That’s the rest of the top 10, we’re not just one track ponies against the bottom half.

Werner was arguably man of the match against Forest, he run them ragged. At £12m as a squad player he is a no brainer - his average stats are better than Jesus.

I suspect it will be Paratici that is backed in the summer as he keeps finding gems. I’m not worried about Udogie and VDV having bad days - they are young and it’s their first season in a new league - it was always going to happen.

I think we’re on the right path and some patience is needed. Days like yesterday will happen, I mean Liverpool were absolutely gubbed mid week at home to Italys 6th best team

----------------------------------------------------------------------

What if he gets more players and more time to improve them in the summer and we as a team improve further?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

What if. Iv been living with "what ifs" with this club for decades now. Spose we have no choice. Look, I definitely don't want Ange to leave but I do think he is a tad overrated if I'm honest.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I just don’t think there is a manager out there available who could improve on what Ange has. People are acting like our squad should be title contenders, when in fact it is relatively young and inexperienced at the back and has quite a few unsuitable players up top for Ange’s preferred system.

My main criticisms of him are that A) we lack balance between defence and attack - he absolutely has to sort that out. B) he had been getting his attacking combos wrong - Kulu in particular can only really be effective with Richy or another target man up top and it def doesn’t work with BJ and Son being the other 2 as no faaaacker is in the box.

But if he is trialling and erring now to get things right for next year then so be it
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I’d rather he focused on THIS YEAR to be honest.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

He has to look at the bigger picture. He has said himself that the CL is no magic wand, he knows Levy is t going to say here’s an extra £300m for getting us into the CL, now push us on further. It will be please work with Mr Paratici to unearth more gems that may push us on further.

Next year, I want us taking cups seriously - winning a league cup would buy Ange much credit with the fans. If we end up in the Europa then so be it, let’s try and win the faaaacker - again that would buy loads of credit with the fans and give CL qualification so Levy would be appeased also.

Getting at least a draw with Arsenal in a couple of weeks and derailing their title bid will also build loads of credit for Ange - that game is very important as a naive and heavy loss in that one will put him under serious pressure with some very tough remaining fixtures.

Ange needs time for his new style to really be imprinted on the side. To expect it to be done in the space of a season, it was hardly going to happen that soon. That said, there is an awful lot of naivety running through the side that doesn't even have anything to do with the style, like the positioning of players. Hopefully the fix here is with players rather than manager. I think we can tell Ange probably isn't happy with what's going on in midfield for a start, since it keeps getting rotated every week. Obviously Werner isn't a long term answer either. Others are good but have let their levels drop - Maddison, Udogie, Porro.

Everyone saw that playing 100mph all game, every game, is not sustainable over a season. He's done ok, seems naive a bit for the PL, he's definitely gonna be here next year. I just wonder if your players are fading after only playing once a week, how are r guys going to cope in Europe too next season?

Jury is out for me. Yesterday was a complete embarrassment. Newcastle have had more injuries than even us and they played us off the park. It wasn’t even a contest. Our players looked clueless and confused. Many of them have got worse as the season has gone on.

I don’t get it with Ange. I just don’t see what gives him so much praise. Is it simply that the football is better than the last five years or so?

If spurs want to take that next step, this is not the guy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It’s a combination of better football and better results - with the added fact he is doing it without Kane.

I look at the players we have brought in and we have got a lot right - Vic, VDV, Udogie, Maddison, Sarr, BJ, Bentancur are all looking very good most of the time. Porro, Kulu, Biss, Werner, Richy are all limited but certainly not duds.

What I would like to know from those doubting Ange is the following:

Where did you think we would finish this season?
Have you mostly enjoyed the football?
Did you expect us to be the finished article already?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Vic and VDV, they look good most of the time.

Referencing our results against the top teams avoids highlighting the season trend: that we have gotten worse over time. Apart from villa and maybe united away, majority of our positive results against them were start of the year when we were on a good run.

That is the point that I, and a few others have - we are getting worse. Yes we’ve had injuries but tbf, we’ve had a fully fit squad for about the last 2 months and actually playing worse than we did during the injury crisis! Lack of europe and cup games means there is no excuse for the players to be “knackered”.

Last point on Werner, if we sign him it is a disgrace. At the end of the day, i dont care about his stats, what I see is him miss chance after chance and it kills us. The stats don’t tell you that he misses a sitter at 0-0 which if it goes in then who knows what happens next. The fact that ange plays him every single match and we got fans like you calling him a no brainer makes me think levy will definitely sanction this bargain and if he does we may as well write off next season too as it will tell us all you need to know on our ambition
