Agreed. More pressure on Ipswich to the extent that they have taken the division by surprise and are unlikely to have another season like this, if they don't go up. Two chances to heap the pressure further before they play again. Also now hoping that Leicester beat Saints and have them resting players for playoffs for game 46. MOT

If we can hold onto McKenna, we'll be up next season even if we miss out next year.

Yeah we really need to just go all out v Boro and bury the game…2 away wins I think is a tall order considering our recent performances, but not beyond us at all. Let’s get our tactics right and close this out. Come on Leeds.

Absolutely right. The teams coming down this year are garbage compared to last season’s relegated teams. The key for you is holding on to McKenna. There will be a few Premier League teams looking at him, not to mention interest from overseas. Thinking about it, it is equally important for you to go up as it is for us. Wouldn’t it be nice if we both make it?

Saw the highlights of the Leicester West Brom game on the box last night. If it was a true reflection of the game Leicester were dead lucky to get the win. Saying that they have been the best team throughout the season being top for most of it. They have faltered since losing to us but seem to be finding a way to win again.
For us we had a bad start and a bad finish (lately) but were unstoppable in the middle part of the season.

Just keep everything crossed that we can win the last 3 games and it will be enough to see us up.

tslufc, Leicester were lucky. Brom were all over them.
Pretty much all game. Saying that, Leicester were all
over us at ER and lost due to a last 15 min meltdown.

Championship is ultra-competitive. Over the course
of the season though, the table doesn't lie.

You also have one or two players like Leif Davis you would need to hold on to….

Lose them and Play-offs might be your only possibility, even with McKenna.

Can't see us holding onto Davis if I'm honest. He's got a year left, and even though we've got an option to extend an extra year, that just means we should be able to fetch a good fee. We can't match PL wages, so we can almost certainly wave goodbye if we stay down. Quite possibly if we're promoted too, as there will certainly be bigger clubs showing interest.

It'd be more a question of how the incoming funds are reinvested, and how much more is available - though it definitely ought to be more than coming up from League One.

In fairness, we've also made some inspired loan signings this year, and will need to do so again next season.

I really do think that McKenna staying is the key, though. The team has an established style, which makes it significantly easier to identify the right players and this year's showing will also have made the club a more desirable destination than the club that came up from League One a year ago.

Add too that swapping three out of Leicester, Leeds, So'ton, WBA or Norwich for potentially Luton, Burnley and the Blades, even with their parachute payments, makes the Championship a somewhat less daunting prospect.
