Well I’m hoping for a win now because if they lose to Palace away and we win both our games, we’ve done it. I do not understand any other way now, particularly now there’s so much riding on it.

It really isn’t. These fans want us to lose, regardless of the offer of CL football.

The thing is, I don’t want Arsenal to win the league but it’s almost like these fans aren’t aware of the chasm between both clubs in the first place. It’s not like them not winning it puts us on an even keel.

The very worst accusation is those that say if you do want it win the game you’re not a real Spurs fan. Feckin pizz off!!! What a load of garbage. Had Villa won, I’d have been behind the fans in not wanting to win but as it is, with something tangible on offer, it’s negative, lacking ambition and altogether poisonous to not want the win against City.

My feeling is that many, many fans tomorrow will start off supporting City but an instinct will kick in and eventually they’ll get behind the team. You make my words. It’s bravado.

I'm bizarrely torn on this, mainly cos I think we will be left short in the summer as usual and we will struggle to compete in CL.

So entirely from our point of view, I think I kinda prefer qualifying for Europa as we can be more competitive in it.

Secondary to that, obviously I don't want Arsenal winning the league either so best case scenario is we lose tomorrow but it would be a bit of a thrill to turn our situation around a sneak into 4th.

Yes that is the attitude. I was thinking this week about if I was in spurs position and you were about to win the league thanks to arsenal winning a game. Definitely understand it’s sickening to see a rival win the league, but ultimately it’s just something that annoys you for a day, but the prospect of your club getting CL again and the potential that could lead to is worth the couple days of being annoyed at people on the internet. If a few years ago when Arsenal were way off CL I’d have ultimately taken spurs winning the league if it meant us being in a position to win one ourselves in a few years. Got to ultimately want best for your team, feck the rest of the noise.

Rubbish. I said at the time I would lose the Europa final to Chelsea if it meant Spurs didn’t win the CL and I don’t regret it today in the slightest

I remember this article at the time and you saying this. City all the way for me tomorrow, and I think some posters above aren’t being completely honest when they say otherwise.

I can take us not qualifying for the CL, we’d never win it anyway.

The only hope really is that Spurs fans usually don’t get what they want.

Although to caveat, if we were in a major final and Arsenal were too, and it was a choice of neither of us winning or both, I’d choose both. Anything else is just weird.

Makes me laugh that fans keep seeing another club not winning as some sort of trophy. Need to take our chance to compete against the best clubs, increase revenue and attract better players which will aid us in our aim for silverware. Spurs to win tonight please.
