It is odd that he suddenly changed his tune about where we finish and his in games tactics.

Like you I would have much preferred him to have kept his mouth shut and concentrate on the job at hand. Our problems are far worse than just a one game result, he's said as much too.

His pop at the fan behind him yesterday kind of tells a story in itself. Yes he has the right to reply but so do the fans.

I'm starting to think is he working his way cleverly to get the sack and a pay day. Maybe he just does not fancy it any more and will walk......

----------------------------------------------------------------------

He hasnt changed his tune about anything.

As long as anything was achievable, anything was our goal. When only 4th became achievable, 4th became our goal.

And how has he changed game tactics....an approach that looks to be front foot, attacking, aggressive and playing to win can be tweaked and refined without it being a "changed tune"

I think we have some of the thickest fans in the land, with most populating this sitewho deserve being popped at by Ange.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

"some of the thickest fans in the land"

Stupid comment IMO. You think intelligence is determined by what football team you support? Or that we just happen to have more than our fair share of "thick" ones?

A bit harsh to call us thick,,,,,, I meant he changed his tactics yesterdays game which is a bit odd. If you don't think he did then not sure what game you watched.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Because we had no left back and no forward and in recent weeks (4 losses in 5) we have struggled with the front 3.

If he sticks with Deki Son BJ he stubborn and if he changes it up he's "changed his tune"

Regardless, the point is that a manager can have a philosophy that accommodates a variety of variations on a theme. Conte was rigidly defensively minded but we change systems and formations.

Ange has made many small tweaks and changes over the season, too subtle for some to see.

I'm all for managers having a pop at our precious fan base. If you can give it out, learn to take it.

Tbf he didn't even have a pop at us but some are taking it via the victim card road πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Absolute b000llll0x.

No way can a manager turn in the fans. Ever.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Rubbish
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Ange calls fans fragile.....and the precious little petals get all up set, as if they are fragile

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Hardly fragile. I just think it's wrong to turn on fans, but I'm hardly impacted by it

I guess we have to agree to disagree but still harsh calling people thick because you don't agree with their view. The whole point of the site is to debate surely.

just another competitive weirdo for a manager.

I would tread a little more carefully if I was him tbf, if he's as ambitious as he seems to be. Disappointed as he may feel about anything, at his age this is likely to be the most high profile job he'll ever have.

He's lucky to have the job in the first place. Spurs wanted a very specific type of manager last summer that made him viable & he wasn't even at the top of that list.

ultimately still happy with the results on the pitch for a first season with a radical change in style

but has to keep that up now - won't be getting any slack from me for being a decent bloke. if he wants a winning mentality from fans fair enough I'll start judging you on results pal

Like Chronic said, there will be only one winner, we’ll still be here long after he’s f*cked off.

This is classic deflection. Ange should have done better but so should a bunch of the fans. Shouting at him to lose the game

The alternative is far worse. I can't think of a manager that would be happy about the fans wanting the team to lose, and I certainly don't want him at our club

The fans want to win something more than anything. Funny how their winning mentality is questioned by Ange when many of us wanted to win the League Cup and he played a weakened team for it and we went out.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I am not calling people thick for not agreeing with me.

I am calling them thick because when Ange says "4th is not our target" its because we are aiming higher and did not want to put a limit on what we can achieve.

When 4th becomes the only thing we can achieve then of course its our target.

But people take the first part of this and beat him with it, that he's changed his tune.

Its like at the start of the season when he said "let the fans dream" when we topped the table and there was talk of being contenders.

People use that to say "ha! he thought we could win the league" but that is not what he is saying and he is correct not to put limits on what we should be aiming for and what the fans can hope for!

This goes to the heart of his philosophy and that is why he was SOOO incredulous of anyone suggesting we throw the City game due to local rivalry.

People who are getting play out of this, in my opinion, are just being wilfully selective in how they quote him, or are just lack intelligence to understand what he is saying and the context

I think it's more that they know he's probably right, that match going fans were shouting at the manager to lose, doing the Poznan etc. but that's too hard to admit so they just say 'yeah but you did..' as if it makes them right.

What I would say, like with Conte, is that even if he is right (and I think he probably is on this occasion) it's a dangerous game to play. Cos like taking on the players, the manager is always going to change before anything else. That's just the reality of it. Even though it'd be the second successful manager we've sacked for saying wtf is going on here instead of addressing wtf is going on here
