Did you make any dreams? Was there nothing you couldn't do?
I assume your first time in the good ol' USA because although NYC is not typical the only main differences are the chubsters and the street food.
Assume you were there negotiating a 5 billion dollar deal
I'm a San Fran man myself !
Never really wanted to visit NYC, I’m sure it’s an epic and great place, but there’s so many more other cities that are way more different, Tokyo, Singapore, New Orleans etc..
New York is just inferior to London in every day now. So many better cities in the U.S.

You have to visit NYC at least once. Too iconic and too many great things to do but agree there's many a great place to visit. Not so sure it is lesser than London, just different. Just back from Minneapolis - very decent with plenty to fill a week.

Done New York twice, as well as Washington DC, Chicago, Denver, Little Rock, Durango, Grand Junction, LA, San Fran.
SF is certainly the best out of the little I've seen.

Like anywhere, it has safe and unsafe areas, being young and dumb we booked a stay in a pretty rough area but everybody was friendly. It's probably not that common for tourists to get caught up in violent crime.

I am off to Japan for 3 weeks in September, any recommendations would be great. Particularly for Tokyo in terms of area to stay in and best things to do.
Current plan is Tokyo for 4 full days —> day trip to Mt Fuji lakes —> Ryokan night in Hakone —> Nagano —> Kanazawa —> Takayama (via Shirakawago) —> Kyoto —> Hiroshima —> Kurashiki —> Osaka/Nara (fly home from there)
New York is a great city to visit. the only thing I did not like, in general, and specifically to Manhattan is that I found the people to be rude and ignorant.
It is the only City in the USA that I have been to that can be compared to London, but it falls well short.
I prefer some of the smaller cities like DC, San Diego, Phoenix, Charleston and Galveston.

I had a great time in New Orleans, but also probably had the scariest moment I've had in the US after taking a wrong turn trying to walk somewhere. Definitely a place to get a taxi to different places you want to visit.
LA was the scariest place I visited in the US by a wide margin
Well I'm having a great time. Is it the best to visit, who knows, to live in, no..
But there are so many iconic areas to see.
Along with London and Paris it's a must see.
go Ribalta in Hells Kitchen
grate pizza n they halve seats from Stadio San Paolo
I stayed in hells kitchen whilst I was in New York last year. Was pretty safe!
Manhattan in general was fine. London underground is so much cleaner than the New York Subway.
Male sure you try bleecker street pizza!
Also korean fried chicken from Bonchon was fantastic
