Fulham going for it. They have Smith Rowe and are trying for McTominay.

Who was it a few seasons ago that we resigned and then immediately transferred him away?

Time for the Leipzig thread Goldie

There’s plenty of centre half players that Wolves are exploring but Esteve is evidently not one of them.

Do wonder if we will sign anyone else until more sales are confirmed. Hope if there are more sales going to happen they aren’t at the last minute leaving us with no time to get things through, and after our targets have been snapped up by someone else

I feel sure with 4 weeks still to go, decisions will be made once the team gets back to the UK.

Sounds like the Hoever to Sheff Utd deal isn’t going through

Sa, Semedo, Joao Gomes and Neto will play some part in the game against Leipzig

5 years ago today Wolves signed Pedro Neto. He has progressed in that time to being one of the best in his position in the Premier League. But how much longer will he be with us?

posted on 3/8/24

5 years but just 111 games, average 22 per season.

Love Neto but it still feels like he hasn't fully proven himself yet. Whatever happens, i hope he has an injury free season.

Played plenty in the first two years but only around half the games the last three seasons. That’s the dilemma for us and for teams that would like to sign him. Only played 20 league games last season but in those games he was quite brilliant

Any club taking Neto is taking a massive gamble, however, when fit, he is arguably the best attacker in the Prem.
Would hate to lose him, but it seems inevitable if the money is right for us.

Still can't see a team laying out 40 odd million for him right now given the constant injuries the last few years.

Wonder at what value we think he is worth and won't sell for less.

posted on 3/8/24

The asking price is said to be £60m and Arsenal, Spurs, Newcastle and Liverpool competing to sign him may drive the price up towards that. The injuries do make it a gamble but I’d be disappointed if we sold him for £40m

Interest also growing in Hugo Bueno. Two Champions League teams in Celtic and Feyenoord want to take him but apart from RAN we don’t have anyone else to naturally fill the left back role

Hello threadsters, I had prepared a match thread yesterday for the Leipzig game, however in my haste to wrap up work before hitting the M6 for a couple of weeks away, looks like I didn't get around to hitting publish. Shame it was a good one too!

Any road up, carry on on here, I'll update the OP.

RB Leipzig are owned by Red Bull. But Bundesliga rules mean that team names can’t include the name of an owner or sponsor. So RB stands for Rasenballsport which means lawn ball sports. They play their home games at the Red Bull Arena and their nickname is the Red Bulls

Leipzig star players include Belgian striker Openda, Slovenian forward Sesko and Portuguese forward Andre Silva who Wolves were linked with not so long ago. Dani Olmo who starred for Spain in the euros hasn’t yet played for Leipzig in their USA tour and is in talks to join Barcelona for a fee in the region of £60m

Faily even first half with Wolves on top for most of he first 30 mins, then the obligatory shower and Leipzig came into the game more.

Good move out from the back with Bellegarde' pas out to the Doc, who puts in a good cross for Sarabia to fire at goal.Takes a huge selection off defenders knee for an own goal.although the commentators are giving it to Sarabia.

Not Joao Gomes cinci, it's Rodrigo. I like the pairing of Toti and Mosquera, who are quick, not like last season with Kilman and Dawson.

Be interesting what changes GON makes at half time.
