And by the sounds of it, we outplayed Liverpool for most of the match. Doesn’t bode well for Liverpool if Slot gets outplayed by a team with no game plan.
A pre season tour to USA / Far East in a year where there is Euros / World Cup / Copa America is not worth it at all. Most of the players aren't even going to be regular starters for us so what's the bleeding point? We are even playing players who are supposedly very close to securing a move away.
Next summer I can see the sense in a tour as there's no international football but I hope the summer after we have a serious rethink but it won't happen.

For those who are still unaware of the fact, from a sporting perspective, preseason friendlies are 99% about fitness.

Yes thet are.. but when you start playing treining games against your closest rivals in the full media spotlight in the USA for example despite who plays in the starting lineone these games will naturally take on more meaning. As will the Charity Shield

I mentioned last night on another thread that there was a really strange hedge in the stadium that went around the perimeter of the pitch in front of the fans.
If we find ourselves in a tight spot in FFP terms, maybe we could raid the club museum for that white picket fence we had at OT in the 70's and sell it to the americans to compliment their hedge.

Don’t read too much into preseason, they’ve shown time and time again that results and performances dont really correlate to how teams perform when the season starts.
I think the tour has set us up nicely to make a genuine push for relegation this season

None of this suggests he is going to cement his place. He may make the squad. Good chance of that.
Missing chances doesn’t mean we didn’t have a game plan, sounds like Robb hasn’t watched the game or even extended highlights. You can clearly tell we have been working on pressing differently and build up phases.
