The fact that the only choice the American people had was between a mad candidate and a dimwitted one shows just how corrupted the political system is.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You don't become an AG by being dimwitted.
There are sticks to beat this campaign with, that is certainly not one.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If you think KH is "dimwitted", you have bought the lies of the mad candidate you refer to
Agree OP, putting aside the fact that he's simply not fit to hold office, the way people idolize him as a figure is just baffling to me.
Idolize him as a business? He doesn't pay his vendors, cheats his taxes and bankrupts several businesses there. He's not a successful businessman.
As the face of masculinity? He's a draft dodging with the build of a melting snowman and the mannerisms of someone off drag race.
As a person? He's a convicted felon who wants to fack his own daughter.
I know there's a chunk that vote for him just so they can be racist and misogynistic out loud but for the people that do look up to him it genuinely says a huge amount about how stupid and/or pathetic they are. They're almost to be pitied if they were such hateful individuals.
The significant percentage of racist, sexist and just plain dumb electorate have basically re-elected one of their own. Trump had barely uttered a coherent sentence the entire campaign. It didn’t matter. Leaders of the free world? Feck off. Idiocracy rules.

It was a very obvious outcome, what we are witnessing is how the absolutely pathetic, weak, feckless, chinless centrism.
Obama > Trump
Macron > LePen
It's happening all over Europe Geert Wilders in Holland, the rise of the AFD in Germany, Melloni in Italy
The UK was mildly insulated from this effect (brexit aside) as we had a lunatic right wing government from 2010 onwards, Starmer will now entrench the pain by "making tough decisions" and in a few years we'll be mover from Starmer > Badenoch/Farage
The chinless centrists those who consider themselves "the grown ups in the room" when in reality they are the spoiled brats who demand everyone support them as they believe they are correct, this cohort will f**k us all
----------------------------------------------------------------------
maybe the world us utterly fed up with liberalism and some of the very far left views creeping in to everyday life.
The left always eat their own.
People on here are acting like the election has been stolen, it wasn't it was a democratic vote by the people and the majority spoke. Maybe people got tired of millionaire actors being strut out every two seconds to tell the lowly people they are ill informed and stupid they are.
Unfortunately a lot of them are stupid though. How do you fix the issue? It's not like anyone is gonna put any stock in education anytime soon.
The republican analyst on CNN is getting a lot of praise for his summary as to why Trump was elected. I am paraphrasing, but effectively said:
The ordinary, hard working American was fed up of being called garbage and naaazis for their views whilst being the backbone of the country.
And he has a point, the response from the left to Trump being re elected has been insane, a lot of vitriol and poison and name calling - yet they see themselves as better than Trump and his supporters

This “they are stupid” argument is bollox - you could label the exact same thing at the left for not realising its policies were not popular, the candidate was a non starter, keeping Biden on for as long as they did despite his problems was stupid.
Biden was polling terribly, very negative towards the end
Yet the left are better educated and smarter? How exactly?
The ordinary, hard working American was fed up of being called garbage and naaazis for their views whilst being the backbone of the country.
-----
Wouldn't exactly claim Trump supporters are the backbone of the country when both parties receive around 70 million votes consistently.
Well for starters a lot of the population in general is stupid and I'm not saying they're all stupid, just that it's part of the issue.
But to the point in hand I'd argue that voting on politics like it's a football team makes you stupid, idolizing politicians makes you stupid, casting your vote based on stubborness rather than policies makes you stupid, voting for change without understanding what that change will be makes you stupid.
Yeah there's some overlap between both sets of supporters but all in all I'd say those things largely apply to Republican voters.
Democrats obviously dropped the ball here in a way that indicates their leadership team really don't have a clue what's going on, but I wouldn't say that necessarily suggests their supporters are less educated.

What are the lies? People can easily judge her on her public speaking to see she's been very poor. She's ran from challenging interviews, struggled to address issues on her policies and just generally looked like an awkward fish out of water who keeps falling back on calling out Trump than giving real answers.
I don't know how smart she really is but if she isn't dimwitted it hasn't come across very well in this campaign.

I think it says more about the intellect of your average Yank. I would not say they are all as thick as mince. But a sizable number are. Trump wouldn't get voted in in a banana republic, I suspect unknown pygmy tribes n the Amazon rainforest have a greater intelligence than your average American.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's been my main takeaway too. Americans are genuinely thick as pig plop. Most would fail self-determination tests; show an American a mirror and he'd try to attack the man inside it.
I'd wager they'd fail object permanence tests too.
Millions have gone into the voting booth and thought " I'll vote for Trump, he seems a straight up guy"

This election wasn't about morality, well not for a lot of people. It was, as it usually is with any election, about have you are financially. And a lot of US folk are obviously feeling it and that's been under the democrats, so they've thought rightly or wrongly that Trump can do a better job.
Sure there are some stupid Americans, but then there are stupid folk all over the world. I'm actually pretty sure know what type of guy Trump is, but ultimately it's not enough for them not to vote for him, especially when they are feeling it in their pockets. Some will say it's terrible to put your finances over morality, but some will say that taking a moral stance doesn't pay the bills.
Don't get me wrong, I can't stand Trump, but appreciate folk might vote for him if they think they will be better off.
And Harris doesn't scream of high competence either - if the democrats had someone decent to vote for, we wouldn't need to have this discussion.
