The traditional thing to do, is to reply to the text, with another text.
Then he knows youve seen it as well

Someone told you this?

Yeah, I got a text from someone that said, "TBOK is a MASSIVE gaylord. Text me back to let me know youve read this."

One of the purported sights/ experiences in Kyoto, is called the "path of philosophy". The description in the guidebook, of this path between various famed temples, had given me visions of majestic views, close exposure to incredible local flora, and an atmosphere of intangible mysticism. When I got to the path and found that it was a gravel footpath with houses on one side, and a stream on the other side, I was suitably disappointed. However, I have to confess, that although the majestic views and incredible flora never materialised, something incredible happened as I was walking the Path of Philosophy. Or more precisely, whilst I was taking a cigarette break, sitting on the end of a footbridge over the stream. What happened was that whilst sitting smoking my cigarette, and eating rice cakes (a marvellous Japanese invented sweet product that tastes exactly like raw cake mix), I realised, that lo and behold, I was philosophising. I should emphasise, that I did not sit there and decide 'well, i suppose i better try some philosophy, seeing how this is the path of philosophy and all'; no, I just started philosophising, without even thinking about it. I mused about problems such as 'does a path have to lead somewhere, for it to be classed as a path ?' and 'what are currents ? Are they just water running downhill ? If so, why does water all run the same way, and not keep meeting at one point and forming floods/ tidal battles/huge holes in the ground ?'. I also asked myself some general questions such as whether leaves ever race each other in a stream, and whether a duck has ever made friends with a fish, but I decided that these weren't really questions of philosophy at all. For the avoidance of doubt btw, I decided that leaves don't race each other, and that a duck has probably never made friends with a fish.
Postscript to path of philosophy story : I later went to a temple which had doors that led to nowhere (it was basically just a wall of doors, which opened onto, well, just the other side of the door), and although i briefly considered whether a door that went to nowhere could be called a door at all, I gave it nothing like the level of thought that I did about the (theoretical) path to nowhere that I thought about on the path of philosophy. I concluded therefore that the Path of Philosophy genuinely did have some kind of philosophical effect.
