It’s not helping anyone with pointless counts on dead is it ? If you are going to do that, why not mention that 99% of them are over 80 then ? It’s just a good way for the media to scare monger like they love doing

I was speaking to an Australian colleague this morning (based in Perth) and he was saying that they with cases so low and not even increasing they are unsure how the government will succession plan. Soon the virus may be gone in the country, but the population will largely not have immunity. What will they have to do? Ensure the borders remain closed until a vaccine comes out?

Id say so. In china, its a two week quarantine if you want to go from a city to a city. My mate in Schenzeng had a spa day a few days ago, If you have an isolated "population" stuff can become quite normal gain. New Zealand is looking pretty good just now too.

You have to record the numbers so that government, doctors, healthcare providers, procurement etc etc know how to manage to pandemic. The amount of people who rely on a daily update to aid in their job will be relatively high.

What do you expect after that? These select 250k Britons to keep quiet?

If it scares people into staying inside then it’s only a good thing. Can’t rely on the common sense of people, people are stupid hence why Brexit happened.

Also, newspapers/reporters/journalists will always try and sell the biggest story no matter the ethics behind it. Covid numbers are the big story.

I don’t think any country has a proper exit plan atm

I understand there’s the odd idiots, but you can’t tell me the vast majority are challenging the rules because that’s not true. The roads are as quiet as it’s ever been. Went for a run in the park with my misses today, barely anyone around. People are listening mate.

Just ride the lockdown out in ignorant bliss, keep safe and hopefully come out the other end.
Personally I watch them all , even though I am frustrated with the same soundbites and answers .

I can only comment on what I am seeing up here.Preston on the whole are behaving admirably. Parks are empty, roads are empty, sun is shining but everyone inside. We do have the odd example of people flouting the rules. Our numbers are very low so big

It’s peoples lives here mate, not Olympic medals. Why do the press need to give us daily counts and records broken every time more people perish ? What does it do to you with a hourly update on a death count ? We all know the virus is here and we need to follow the advice until told otherwise

Here in sunny Saafend they’re enjoying their back gardens and mostly keeping distance when out for shopping or exercise

There is a minority of idiots everywhere tho

I’ve been watching it before it even came to the UK
I warned several big men about it early who laughed it all off
Weeks later they were asking me for advice and shatting themselves
Some still don’t take it seriously, that’s their look out I guess
And no I’m not watching it as if it’s the Fackin Olympics jeeeez weird thing to say
Just turn it off if it’s too boring for you mate

Any on a positive note I’m loving how not only big businesses are helping out but individuals too.

A local lad about 18 here is using his 3D printer to produce masks for the local hospitals and care homes

I didn’t say you specifically did I ? I’m saying the press are very disrespectful with it and talk about record deaths every day like it’s an Olympic sport and we are trying to break records. I dunno I think everyone should be forced to be more charitable. Like everyone has to do 10 years community service a year or saink

I couldn’t care less who was running our country right now (whoever that is....someone on another thread is Itk about Boris being on a ventilator...make of that what you will)
Genuinely not about which party is in charge as I see it as our country fighting this together
So any attack is not personal or partisan.
Even tho that’s the first thing that gets jumped upon to shut down any debate about it.

Eg if Corbyn had been in power I wonder how many people wouldn’t have listened to his advice just because it was him saying it.
So I don’t think we’d be any better off leader wise( during the pandemic anyway)
