Saw him live at Folkestone Leas Cliff abaaaat 20 years ago. He was superb.

I wish he’d stop being such a stubborn caaant, and just reform The Jam for one final pay day and then call it quits.

Read his autobiography, it’s odd - his childhood is one of utter misery, growing up in post war, post Moors Murderers, high unemployment Manc slums. There are no chapters to break up the book, it just flows as one continuous dreary dirge.

The Queen is Dead though, what an album.

His autobiography is very dreary. He is however the greatest singer songwriter of the last 40 years.
