Ah right yeah. Except people disagree all the time. I don't agree with Chris and Edin about xG, for example. I don't agree with the the majority of the football world on var. It's alright.

Kind of a fun stat to look at though, it just doesnt say as much as it could if it was made player specific somehow

It bugs me on several levels. It's not a stat like we think of them (counting things that happen) so calling it that feels misleading. Then there's the player specific thing, right. Then there's the inherent flaws in the algorithm. Surely xG should be correct most of the time? If we're to believe it's an accurate number teams and players shouldn't consistently under or over perform it.

The only useful application I can see for xG is comparing the output of two players on the same team.

I said that I wasn't particularly bothered about Prince Andrew allegedly sleeping with a 17 year old when he was 40, and that I think she's in it for the money.

Some of them also thought I was trying to defend him by pointing out that Bowie, Presley and iggie pop slept with 13 and 14 year olds, but that genuinely wasn't the point I was making and I think the point I did make was intentionally twisted by others.

Did you miss the Epstein case? Cos that's important.

The point that I was making was that they refused to criticise the rock stars even though what they had done must be much worse. Therefore they really just were interested in seeing an establishment figure fall. I was not trying to validate Bowie etc in any way, quite the opposite, and although I explained that personally I could let a bloke wsleeping with a 17 year old slide, I wasn't trying to use Bowie etc to support this argument. I was just pointing out their hypocrisy in not attacking the rock stars with the same toxicity.

Yes i am aware of it.

I pointed out that one of the witnesses against Maxwell has claimed that guiffre told her at the time she'd slept withAndrew, and was over the moon about it.

I believe she has been manipulated by lawyers, but they could not accept this as a view any reasonable human being could hold.

So I've lost all my movie threads.

I think that's pretty unlikely and makes light of what she went through getting trafficked by evil people and what it must take to go to court and explain all the things that happened to her. Then there's the point you take Maxwell's word over hers. Even if she did say that context is important.

I think it's a bad take and I would question your motives on doubting her case and whose side you're apparently on.

I mean, it's a point of fact that they trafficked vulnerable going girls for s3x and this woman was a part of that. Andrew at the very least was a dirty old man who enjoyed the idea of what they were doing. I think the undercurrent is that, really, Guiffre is the tip of the iceberg. Unless for some reason we convince ourselves that this was a one off, fun time for all involved.. which again, seems pretty unlikely given what we know about the people involved.

It's not maxwells word, it's the word of one of the witnesses against Maxwell.

Oh right yeah my bad.

I slept with an 18 year old in Cambodia when I was 43. Probably about 6 times (including when she was 19). She told me she was 19 not long after we met, not that that makes any difference. Funnily enough I'd never even considered her age when we went to bed. We made out the first time we met and just cracked on with it, and I never even thought about it.

The age gap wasn't ideal but we still got on very well, had a great laugh and always enjoyed each others company, because other than the age issue we were actually very well suited.

It would have been great if she was older, and I'm sure,all the more enjoyable, but that's just the way it was, and we enjoyed hanging out (and also having sxe). She was way brighter and more savvy than some of the much older girls I knew there anyway.

Her much older sister knew about it, and no-one seemed to see it as an issue when we went out. In fact I received at least a couple of compliments about our banter.

She was a cracking girl who I remember quite fondly.

I genuinely have no regrets about it at all, and dont feel bad about it in any way, and I'm very confident neither does she. We lost touch when she got involved with the guy she married a couple of years ago.

I do not believe that it makes me a bad person or defines who I am. I'm unsure whether it affects my views on large age gap relationships in general but it may do.
