You’ll have to rewrite it word for word
The detectives scoured the afternoon's conversation for something that could have changed his mood, from the cool disinterest which they knew had taken over him in the mid afternoon. "Aint nothing here boss" the more junior officer said. "Are you absolutely certain tex ?" replied the boss. "Boss, there aint nothin'" he says. "The broad just says something about some socks". "Ok" says the boss, "can't be that. Aint no guy ive ever met got crazy about wool". "Let's go back to the station.". The detective didn't realise how close he'd stumbled to the truth.
I think that's the first para but there may be 1 missing

It was a week later they realised. They had a little office downtown. And on the sunday afternoon there was a little knock on the door. The detective carried on writing, taking no notice. There was anither knock. "Yeah, what it is is ?" Ahe hollered. And then he heard her voice. "Excuse me. Am i in the right place ?" she said. The detective thought her voice sounded like birdsong. He stopped writing." Come in, please Miss Smith" he said....
she had a real pretty face. Her cheeks were rosy. She had great skin. Her hair was fantastic. There was no denying, she was a real doll. "Please take a seat mamm" said the detective, as he pressed his intercom. "Yup" a voice said down the line "get in here tex, we've got a visitor"....
I think there might be a few typos in this one
There were only 2 chairs in the office. One behind the desk, one in front of the desk. Tex stood as the conversation started. "Can we take your coat mamm ?" Said the p.i.. "Oh no, it is alright thank you, i am quite cold today" she replied. It was the first time tex had heard her voice, and his heart leapt a little. "That's funny miss smith" the boss thought to himself, "you look smokin hot from where im sitting"...
They chatted for a few minutes. The detectives asked the questions. She answered. They thought she might be being evasive. She always had an answer, but the more they talked, the more confused the detectives seemed to become. After a few minutes the detective turned to tex. But tex was just in a daydream, gawping. The detective hadnt seen him like this before. He followed his eye line, and immediately saw what had distracted his junior partner...
I think i'll just leave it there tbh
Blarmy, superb is so easy to wind up
Just realised that the cleaner in my last place, put some of the gifts I'd bought from the handicrafts place on my birthday in the bin because they were wrapped in newspaper
I saw the bin was full of stuff after she cleaned the room but I never twigged what it was.
What a shame

Act 6 (Api's revenge)
As soon as the ballerina is off Anung, Api - now having summoned his entire volcanoic content - unleashes fury on Anung. Anung - blissfully daydreaming about the beautiful ballerina in the morning sunshine - hears a loud roar off in the distance, and feels a huge surge in the atmosphere. Api is unleashing fury. The sky darkens as mountain fulls of ash and fury thunder into the sky. When Api has finally finished jettisoning his part of the globe out into the atmosphere, he falls into a state of exhaustion. At first he feels some pleasure from the sight of his work thundering through the air above him, and is pleased at the thought of it landing on Anung, silencing him for a thousand years, and he wonders whether the ballerina might come back some day and - with Anung smothered - walk on him instead. He dreams about the ballerina walking on him for a moment. But then, he notices the wind. In his fury, he had forgotten to calculate the wind direction, and he sees that it is blowing away from Api. In a moment of dispair, he realises that all of the ash that he has jettisoned is hurtling away from Anung, that Anung has got away with it, and that the ballerina will walk on Anung if she returns and will never walk on him. He falls back into a deep sleep, exhausted and crestfallen.

It'd make a better song than my detectives story !
It was inspired by a girl I had an evening out with in Bali, the day before she climbed Mount Api, which she came back down (at least some of the way) barefoot !
And also Mount Anung which exploded the next day, covering me with ash (by which time I was on the island of Komodo).
i lost my red rhino, which i'm not that bothered about, and my mum's giraffe coloured bowls, which i'm a bit gutted about. never mind.

I have some very good news today which I think will put a smile on everyone's face
