I just got invited to a wedding in Delhi. Long way to go init
Bet it would be an incredible once in a lifetime experience though. You gonna go?
Yeah I think I might. It's not cheap though obvs. And I'm thinking I'll have proper culture shock
Yeah probably. I've never been but I've heard there's parts of India that are very manic, jarring and I guess just exhausting to visit as a Caucasian?
But on the flip side I think the wedding itself would be an incredible experience and then maybe you could travel south to some of the more quiet and picturesque areas after.

Yeah could be. I've also got connections in Kerala which by all accounts is stunning. I guess the Taj Mahal would be on the cards, too
Places I can remember going to in India:
Delhi
Calcutta
Darjeeling
Chennai
Madurai
Chembukkam
Hyderabad
Hampi
Kochin
Allepey
Goa
Mumbai
Agra
Jaipur
Jodphur
Amber
Jaisalmer
Amritsar
Places I'd go back to in India:
Saying that, if I said I regret going I'd be lying.
Decent spot I've found today:

I had friends who did a months travelling in India and they said it probably wasn’t worth it, spent half the time feeling Shiite as well
Yer
Not a place that apeel 2 me
Yeah I kinda get the feeling it's a bit like a parachute jump or something. Unique experience that people love to say you should do.. but maybe not actually that enjoyable
As an aside, Indian weddings sound insane. 15 days of ceremony, 3 days of 500 guests.. they reckon it'll cost 200k Canadian
& without the biggest surge of endorphins You’ll ever experience
Yeh Indian weddings do sound the best
Yeah I was chatting to an Indian couple a few weeks ago on a night out and they said their wedding was exhausting
Me as the only white guy like 💁

Been to an Indian wedding here… was a very long day. We were hung over so actually went to our room and slept for a couple of hours during proceedings.
Groom arrived on a white horse

that's not far off.
some people love it, some people hate it.
probably the most regular view is that it wasn't that enjoyable at the time but looking back was very rewarding and unmissable as a travel experience.
that's for an extended trip though.

I had a great uncle or great grandfather or something who owned large portions of the isle of man. apparently at his funeral the villagers lined the streets and the procession was led by white horses.
totally irrelevant but to me it's kind of like a boast so wtf.
