But when I watch this long throw stuff, there isn’t any complex routines in the box. It is basically ‘let’s see who can throw longest & put everyone in the box’. Which is fine and effective, it’s what my Sunday league team does. What I find weird is that Frank doing it makes him an outlier - are coaches really that simple or inflexible?

When we did it v psg it looked like a plan. Overload the back post.

Every throw since is the same and quite easily defended because the opponent knows it’s coming.

I don't know if Frank is Levy's fault or Lange's.
And even if it was Levy's I maintain that the way he was treated was appalling and he ought to have been given a proper send off.
But to go from 'everyone in their 3rd of the pitch, and then if they get the ball, everyone run back as fast as you can', directly with essentially the same players to 'we keep possession by passing it backwards. hopefully we'll somehow get a couple of corners at some point', is pretty remarkable.

Alot fans were saying we have a proper coach, who will coach the players as opposed to what Ange did.

The Jury is out.

Thing is he probably is doing more 'proper' coaching but that's all for nought if you play 4 centre mids and hoofball..

Still not Frank out by any stretch, a lot of it is on the limited/injured options he has when it comes to our forward line

I was, I didn’t anticipate the ball progression to be this turgid

I did anticipate it looking a bit grim when Palhinha was on the pitch. But Bentancur isn’t much better and a lineup with Sarr attacking mid and Bergval left wing is footballing terrorism

I've heard of escapegoats, but Bergvall only played 7 minutes.

We also did that midweek as well mate, appreciate you don’t really follow football like that

The idea that the best weapon we have is to use Richarlison for his ability to roll around on the ground and pretend to have been fouled, smacks of desperation. In fact it doesn't just smack of it. It....drowns in desperation.

Chithousing isn't rolling around. It's being aggressive in challenges. Winding people up to put them off their game. Running for things you've got no right to win just to earn a corner or throw in. It gets the crowd going. We had a bunch of softies out there. I feel like Roy Keane but jeebus where was the fight?

I was underwhelmed by Frank coming in and it's turning out how I expected. He's not coached a team expected to attack Chelsea before. He's not managed a big squad expected to do well in multiple competitions before.

I'm definitely not Frank Out by any stretch but I'm with Hengy that he'll last next season at best.

Does Frank have a second season gimmick by any chance?

Dunno why you felt the need for caps. A good chithouse is definitely part of the game. Definitely against Chelsea when we're just wandering around looking like lost lambs getting bullied
