Here's my five signings: Rooney, Ronaldo, Ruud, Rio and Robin.
*Rafael and Fabio: Miss the former in particular, like a terrier on the touchline.
*Cavani for his work rate and movement.
*Herrera, can't think of any other midfielder besides the obvious

oooh R
If you’re talking about players at their best level for us and not overall United career I’m taking.
Vidic, Evra, Anderson, Cavani,
Onana
Maz Vidic Martinez
Dalot Ugarte Anderson Evra
Amad Bruno
Cavani
Can we use the time machine to fetch a physiotherapist from the future who can ensure Saha stays fit?
---------------------Onana
------De Ligt-----Maguire-----Martinez
Kanchelskis---Ugarte---Butt---Sharpe
-----------Amad--------------Bruno
-----------------------Saha
I presume we can't buy United youth players either so here's my attempt.
Valencia
Lee Sharpe
Herrera
McClair
Onana
De Ligt
Maguire
Martinez
Valencia
Ugarte
Mainoo
Sharpe
Bruno
Amad
McClair
We also have Yoro, Mazraoui, Mainoo etc to come in there. Indeed I'd probably have Mainoo as a No10 in future to try.
I've gone for Valencia as he'd be like a machine down that right. Sharpe on the left would also add some quality and he also started as a LB.
In midfield can't really see past Herrera although the Saints Schneiderlin may actually have had a chance.
Up front I've gone with Choccy. A really intelligent footballer and I'd also love reading his diary and his opinions on what the club has become in his deadpan manner.
I would have also probably gone for Saha but I've also considered the injury situation (unless the time machine helps with that as well) so have gone for durable players.
Oh, and on the subject of time machines watch Primer. But watch it properly! It needs concentration!

Yes, I will.
If I’m building a squad for Amorim, I go and get Sharpey to play RWB, Evra or Young to play LWB, Fletch for CM (or Kagawa to play alongside Amad and drop Bruno into midfield) and peak Cavani to play up top
Wouldn’t mind seeing:
Sharpe—Ugarte—Bruno—Young
———Amad———Kagawa
——————Cavani
Pique, Irwin, Sheringham, and Larsson.
I'm going along the lines that none of the above cost much when we signed them or when they were with us - Pique didn't become a star until at Barca.
When you have as much intelligence as these players, it doesn't matter if you don't quite have that yard of pace
Onana
Yoro Pique Martinez
Amad Ugarte Mainoo Irwin
Sheringham Bruno
Larsson
I'd have Mark Hughes for CF
VDS in net
Evra
Pogba
Remi Moses (injuries permitting, would have been a great)
Kanchelskis
Coppell
Saha
Darren Fletcher
Antonio Valencia
Nani
Saha
Since no superstars… No way onana keeps his place against prime DDG or bartez etc, fletch although limited gets in, Hargreaves as alternative, Larson up front (younger version than played for us), and Blanc in defense.
Some nice shouts here. Surprised no one has picked Yorke or Ole at CF. I realised I forgot all about Tevez. Probably a “superstar” player in reality but his quality and work rate would surely find a place somewhere.
Had forgotten about Cavani and Sharp, too.
I was very close to opting for peak Fletcher just before the ulcerative colitis robbed him of the form and importance he’d developed.
Tbf I would consider Yorke a big signing. He was one of the best strikers in the prem and was our record signing at the time. It’s not too dissimilar to signing Cole or RVP.

I realise the lines are blurry, but Cole is one of the all time top PL goal scorers and RvP was arguably one of the best strikers in the world for several seasons (mostly at Arsenal). I loved Yorke but I don’t think he ever quite had superstar status globally or is regarded as highly as RvP and Cole (maybe unfairly).
