Would he come to another cash strapped club though if this is the reason?
Well top of the bookies list is Richie Wellens the Orient Mánager. I really dont know what he's done to top our "wanted" list ???
I'd forgotten Sean Dyche was unemployed...him or Steve Cooper for me.
They've gone on a very good run and marched up the table a little bit like Lincoln ( was it?) last season.
I'm not sure we'd be able to get Eustace, as good as that appointment could turn out to be. We'd have to pay a fee to Blackburn first and given the severance pay to PW and co. doubt we'd want to shell out on a manager when there's several available without paying a release. If it's a case of him walking out on Blackburn and joining us are we at risk of the EFL's wrath for 'tapping up a manager'? I mean no other team would be but to make an example out of the matter could we suddenly find ourselves punished?

Joey Barton I'm hearing.

If that happens, I'll be taking a sabbatical.
Good chance it has already been decided. Not logical to sack Warne on the eve of a game otherwise.

Odds on Lee Carsley have come down. He's taken over from Gerrard as the favourite now.
.....and that would be a sensational appointment if he said yes.
Wellens would be a gamble but I rate him.
The dreamer in me says massive investment by the richest man in Babylon, incoming, and the condition was Warne leaving.
We seem to lack an obvious strategy at the moment. From failed recruitment to changing formations, today's events were probably inevitable with PW taking the fall. Although the timing is still surprising and might suggest the tipping point came during conversations this week.
The one constant under Clowes has been pragmatism so it's most probably a manager already available. Can't see it being Gerrard and doubt Dyche or Cooper would want the job. How about Wagner? Not sure if he's still available, would have a nice symmetry given our opponents this weekend
Carsley’s odds have shortened……
Any chance of moving this to the match thread to keep it under one roof?
...& so near to the 100 ? 🤔
A man has lost his job and we don't want to be disrespectful. That sort of thing is allowed on the match thread.
