His statement was a polite way of saying, 'I earn a fortune here, and I am prepared to see out my contract even if it means I do not play.'

Yes, I would say the same.

Like any of us would walk away from 350k a week at least he isn’t a sulky little baby while he takes, that’s good for us compared to Sancho, Rashford etc

He will not rest until we win the league and wants to make it happen by 2026. That's dedication for you.

🤣🤣🤣

How can you blame him.

I would've thought one of the Saudi clubs would've easily matched those wages to have his name at their club.

Saudi clubs have shifted away from big name ageing players recruitment policy. All at the same time, almost as if they were directed by the state, as opposed to acting as autonomous businesses.

If his family are settled and he’s on silly money why would he move?

Fair. I would do the same

I think the phrase I'm looking for rhymes with clucking bell.

Have they tried shopping in wales? Plenty of big names there

It could be a way of saying "I'm not going to break my contract so you'd have to subsidise my wages if you want to move me on".

Funnily enough though I do still think he has something to offer. If you played him at DM alongside Ugarte you could still have the wing backs. Amorim could name him as a CB if he wants to stick to the three at the back. Casemiro when he's covering smaller spaces can still be effective IMO.

Fck it, even as is highly possible, his family hate it here, it's 18mil every year - doesn't look like he's short of a tanning bed.

He’s specifically said his family are settled here.

I think he would be ok next to Ugarte. On a more general point where we're lacking is a CB mobile and intelligent enough to move into midfield when we have possession. Maguire certainly isn't, neither is Casemiro unfortunately.

The likes of Bruno , Dalot and Shaw have all been stealing living at United so why not a 5 time champions league winner enjoying his life getting paid by United too?

I did wonder whether Mainoo could even do it from CB as he can actually carry the ball. A bit like De Jong has done on occasion in his career.

I know I'll get stick for this but Ethan Ampadu would be able to do this and he gets stuck in too. Plenty of experience for quite a young player as well.

Ideally it would be Martinez as he's played both positions before but unfortunately that's scuppered for now. I wouldn't say no to trying Mainoo there. It also gives us so many more options in the two CMs as well. Whether Mainoo could manage the CB role as effectively would be the only question mark. Yoro is another worth considering. I haven't watched Ampadu tbh so couldn't comment there.

Can’t really blame him. He has nothing left to achieve in his career really.

He’s turned out to be one of the worst signings in our history despite a good 4 or 5 months at the start.

Sancho? We didn't have 4 or. 5 good games out of him.

At least he got 20 million for him. No one wants Casemiro.
