what been the Leeds fans assessment of Paraag Marathe. Has he been a positive for the club, do the Leeds fans like and are you hopeful based on the job he has been doing?

Paraag's a busy lad. If this happens,
does it open avenues between the clubs
in the event they want to move players?

Would there be any connection to LUFC
under the 49ers umbrella of clubs?

For me, 49ers have been really good.

Our club has been an ownership mess for a long time.
Once the 49ers became the sole ownership group,
they slowly but surely changed the set up and the
way we recruit. We're reaping the rewards right now.

we tried similar with Man Utd ... they sent us up some guy called Diallo, he wasnt up to the usual standard up here though and struggled to get on the bench. No idea what he is doing now?

Not overly endeared with Paraag Marathe.
Came in and did a lot of talking about signing contracts in his sleep.
Managed to sign Jack Harrison up to a new contract but agreed one with an awful clause that has meant he has ended up at Everton for 2 seasons whilst his value drains.
Has blamed these relegation contract get outs are the responsibility of the previous regime despite him working with the previous regime for years and it being well known the 49ers were 100% behind Harrison new contract.
The contracts have been a complete carnage for Leeds ultimately costing us promotion last season as we started the campaign with practically no team in August as players with such contracts were all leaving the sunken ship to protect their big wages elsewhere. Very very messy!!

wasnt the club forced to sell loads of players to make up a huge deficit that was due?

Yes.

And Kebab's right. To an extent.

We don't know the whole story. But, our previous
owner Radrizanni was a bit of a shady fcker. Sadly
we found this out af the end of his tenure. His DF,
Orta was about as hit and miss as it gets. His few
hits were really good. Too many bad misses and
horrendous contracts at stupid lengths.

49ers came in and went along with it. Added a few
of their own sh 1 t contracts. Last two seasons
they've been playing clean up on all of it. And on
the whole handled it well. Now have us on the brink
of a return to the Prem.

Fans, like every aspect of any club, are divided on
whether they're a good owner or not. I think they are.

Do you know if their end goal is to get to the EPL then sell up or are they they there for the long haul?

I wonder if this could be the forerunner for more Red Bull involvement in Leeds, buying a larger stake etc?

posted on 20/2/25

Got off to a very dodgy start but I think the 49ers have steadied the ship, have bought some very decent players and are planning to redevelop the stadium. All good.

Hope Rangers do get investment as my Dawson ticket hiding mates are becoming so depressed with the state of the club they're doing my head in.

We couldnt sell the players we would have loved to have sold because loads had clauses they could just leave on load. They could choose to stay at Leeds on 50% wages following relegation or activate their loan clauses and go out on loan on 100% wages.
Caused absolute carnage. We basically didnt have a team for one month at the start of last season which ultimately was the difference between us and Ipswich/Leicester. Its also meant that we have had to sell players we would rather have kept.
To this day we still have Rasmus and Harrison out on loan.

Plus points is the senior player recruitment has been excellent. We have had a few good transfer windows on the bounce now.
The previous regime were very good at buying some good cheap youth players (Meslier, Struijk, Summerville, Gelhardt, Gnonto, Joseph) but failed massively when buying players already good enough to play in the Premier league. Shopping in Austria the 14th strongest league in Europe was never going to end well but the clowns backed american cheerleader Jessie Marsch instead of the greatest coach in the world. Crazy!

We have stopped trying to sign youth players under the 49ers and they have concentrated on buying more the 22-26 year old range.
Tanaka £3m absolute bargain
Bogle £5m been brilliant this season after a shaky start
Rodon £10m a very good price.
Byram £0m as good a free transfer you could hope for
Ampadu £7m again a good price
Gruev £3m again a bargain
Ramazani £11m shown good form in patches

We have got the loan market spot on in
Manor Solomon - too good for championship
Joe Rothwell
Only the signing of Schmidt £3m could be questioned but he has struggled probably as a direct result of us keeping players healthy as hes a utility player whos not really had a chance in a winning team.

Can we sell him. Not a bad bloke who turns up on square ball and picks fans up who have broken down on way to away games but cant forgive him for lying to my face in Australia. "No we are not selling any more players". Roofe was sold before I even got back to England!

He was correct - Roofe has barely kicked a ball without breaking something ever since.
