I know this doesn't fit the narrative from across the pond it would appear BUT I've lived a very happy and enjoyable life living in the US for the past 26 years.... I have a wonderful standard of living & nothing to complain about... wouldn't wanna live anywhere else.

Not a Trump Fan, I'm Pro everyone, work hard, pay my taxes, Obey the law and try to look after my family

I will not get into the pros & cons of Pochettino or any other manager we've had in the past 30 years.

All I will say is that the current Aussie manager is way out of his depth and hopelessly devoid of football strategies employed in the Premiership. He is not qualified to manage Tottenham Hotspur nor to train young recruits.
The Aussie has got to go.He has been here longenough for all the good he has not done....
And the sooner the better for all concerned, club, fans, cleaning ladies, etc
Just damned well GO!

Thank goodness you're not getting into the pros or cons of any past or present Spurs managers though

Loads of paparazzi currently outside the training ground at the moment, bit strange considering the time of day and players away on international duty

He ain’t coming back according to the guys at A View From The Lane. He won’t leave the USA job before the World Cup and we wouldn’t pay the buy out clause so unless Ange limps on for another season before leaving, the timings don’t really line up. Poch would likely be the next one after the next one, if at all.

The man nearly won the title. Nearly won the CL. Nearly won 2 league cups.
Yes it was only nearly.
But what other manager since Bill Nick has come so close? Even Bill didn’t get to a European cup final
The disrespect Poch gets sometimes is unreal. He was let down massively by the club. He had no funds to strengthen for 3 windows and had to deal with 2 stadium moves.
Looking back, he worked miracles, improved so many players who weren’t performing until he arrived too.

Don't ever compare Bill Nicholson to Pochettino. Nicholson won two European Trophies for starters. So he did get to European finals. And in Bily Nicholson's day you had to win the title to get into the European Cup as it was then called.

Nicholson was a serial trophy winner.

Why not? You have used Nicholson to compare with Ange in order to defend him by talking about how Bill didn't get us anywhere in the first part of his career.

A wee bit hypocritical that.

Comparing Pochettino to Nicholson is simply wrong on so many fronts. One was a serial winner, one won nothing. Anyone that compares the two cannot be taken seriously.

Ange could be compared to Billy in that in their early days because both have had bottom half finishes. But that is where the comparison ends. Ange may still go on to be a serial trophy winner. Something Pochettino won't be doing.

Panama knocked USA out last night in the CONCAF semi final.

And some want this joker back at Spurs.

It's getting embarrassing for Pochettino now.

Seriously think Levy is going to rehire a manager that loses all his matches? You should take up comedy.

That's not the point he was making. Nicholson is rightly lauded as our greatest ever manager but some fans, you in particular, like to chastise Poch at every possible opportunity, even though, as Sir Tottenham pointed out, but for a little luck and some ownership backing, would be looking back on a legacy that would have included a PL title, a CL and a couple of domestic cups. He was only pointing out that Poch was nearly there and a damn sight closer than any other manager we've had in Prem history. He was our best manager for 40 years and no misfortune with circumstances, like the stadium move and a lack of finances, will ever change that, despite your absurd insistence that only trophies alone can measure success.

It's like saying finishing 4th from bottom is the same as finishing 2nd because neither gets a trophy or gets relegated. Your logic, as with all of your arguments, is so flawed it probably requires medical intervention.

Exactly fridge. Not comparing directly but just asking what manager has done better than Poch, considering all circumstances
I think if Venables had got on with Sugar and stayed a few years more we’d have won lots.
Graham and Ramos won a trophy but were pants really
Poch era easily the best since the 60s and it’s not even an argument

I think Keith Burkinshaw is a fairer roadblock. That was a pretty golden era for us too which is why I think 40 years was a fairer assessment of Poch's success. Like you say, Venables, Graham and Ramos all won cups with us but none of them oversaw a team so close to the truly big cups than Poch.

Sandy won't have it though. He never looks at the bigger picture. He'll use isolated results like the Panama one last night to try and prove a very weak point. It's for this reason I'd be so, so happy if he came back. He'd have us cooking again but more importantly, it'll make Sandy's head burst and I want a front row seat for that.

posted on 21/3/25

Yeah I was literally just going to say Burkinshaw - in terms of trophies you can’t argue that was a good era, and we came 3rd a couple times in league as well I think

Think we should get an interim manager for 1 season and get Poch after the World Cup, someone like Redknapp, Klinsmann or Hoddle etc

What a load of bollox to say he would have won the Prem, CL and two FA Cups. The fact is he didn't. And he was given plenty of money. May as well say Ramos would have if he was given the money Poch had to spend.

I wouldn't worry about Sandy, that character will be finished for good in just over 2 weeks when he doesn't show up to our meeting before the Southampton game.

Only if we couldn't get any meaningful managerial targets in the summer. If Iraola is available then we should get him or someone else promising like the Brighton manager.

The rest of this season would be the time for an interim manager but we've seemingly decided against that.
