Phew what a let off. Judd leads 4-3. Willams has had a lot of the run though so about time Judd gets some.

However, I have been a bit annoyed with Foulds in this tournament. He has seemed very negative about John for some reason.

He only had 1 in frame 7 but Williams had 1 in frame 1 and has played a few loose safety and left Judd badly hampered a good few times which caused him to get a few chances.

He said they should do more research because the amount of times they say something like "I've not seen much of this guy before" and they don't seem to know much about other tournaments etc.

About the Judd fluke, I was only winding up.

Think Judd has been great this tournament. I actually don’t mind any of the 4 semi finalist winning the whole thing.

I feel the opposite about Dennis and Virgo, I think Dennis was fine in the 90s and 2000s but really should’ve retired around 10 years ago at least.

With Virgo, I actually have liked him for years, but maybe he’s outstayed his welcome for a couple of years now.

Well that much is true, they should be keeping up.

But the biggest problem is on the bbc, who are the alternatives to Virgo? Shaun Murphy?

I agree that the likes of Virgo, Taylor and Parrott need to do more than simply turn up to the triple crown events - actually know a bit about the players they are watching.

I also think generally that commentators are more hesitant to criticise the established top players - sometimes rather than call them out for playing a bad / wrong shot, they say, who am I to criticise the 3/4/5/7 etc times world champion - that's what your are there for, all players can make poor choices.
