I think so.
I think there are far more unique wingers about these days, particularly at Europe's top clubs.
Players like Eze at Bayern. He stood out at Palace as a very unique and individual player and has continued to do this at Bayern. I can't think of any players like him, which is why Bayern went for him, for his individuality. And credit to him, he is doing well.
Id agree with this if Palmer wasnt having the joy coached out of him by Maresca
Palmer is not a good example
The players you mentioned still put a system based defensive shift in. One of the reasons why Cherki is still at Lyon because he is someone who doesn't do enough defensive work.
There are some good examples of progressive coaches in the PL, who focus on individuality rather than the team.
Russel Martin at Southampton this season did a really good job of coaching the team aspect out of players and created a group of individuals.
RVN at Leicester as well. Had some top class players but they were playing together as a team far too much before he came along.
It's really refreshing to see coaches trying something different though creating groups of individuals instead of creating teams.
This goes hand in hand with what I’ve been saying. The quality of football this season in the league is just shocking. It’s gone from a proper game of footie every week, to robot wars.
Liverpool will be embarrassed if they win it.

Gary O'Neil was excellent at this also. It's good to see an English coach get some recognition.

You know I think I remember that. Good old days when you had individualism in Robot Wars, before woke

In 2025 anti DEI measures mean that Mathilda would have been retired and Sir Killalot would have managed her corner and his own corner simultaneously

I remember the first time Cassius managed to flip himself back over after being flipped - game changing moment.
