Amorim Out: Reasons For Sacking Him

The manager can and should be criticised, no doubt.

Sacking him is very foolish though.

Let's give him a summer and see how it goes next season.

Tell me OP, do you accept that it is very unlikely that the board will get rid of Amorim this summer? I'm not wanting to go into a big debate about whether that is right or wrong (as your view has been obvious for a good while now), but just whether you appreciate what is likely to happen in terms of who will be our manager next season.

We should just get Conte or Emery in before the end of the season.

You might be the worst poster on here because at least the other 'clowns' are posting slightly tongue in cheek. I genuinely don't think you are. You're just that deluded.

Amorim inherited a mess and this was always going to be a awful 6 months.

Also I'd say Amad Diallo has definitely improved before cruelly getting injured.

Yoro is getting better with every game.

Bruno Fernandes is also playing much better now than he was August - November. In fact it's not even close.

Unfortunately not much can be achieved with this group of players. The GK is a moron and the forwards are goal shy and struggle with the basics.

Fergie had a torrid time early doors too, with a mess that needed cleaning up

It's like when I got Fergie to flip a coin, it came up heads 3 times on his first three flips, before it was tails on the 4th flip.

Amorim has just flipped the same coin and landed on heads three times. That means there is a 90% chance that next time he flips it, it will land on tails, because it did for Fergie and it is due to land tails due to it landing heads three times in a row.

So if we give him another season then he SHOULD be a success, based on that.

I'd argue Bruno has just been consistently good but appearing to be better now because the standards around him have become far worse than they were before

This is true.

Sadly this mess is much harder to clean up because of how football finances work in 2025. We are going to struggle to offload a lot of the players who fans have had enough of yet again. And the ones we do manage to sell will be leaving for huge losses.

Nah I disagree. First few months of season he was just as bad as the rest of them. Thankfully he managed to find some sort of form that steered us away from a relegation fight as without him (and Amad who we lost to injury) we'd be bang in trouble.

Bruno is too good to be playing with some of these players. Thankfully due to his age, wages and the price we'd want for him.....I don't think he realistically has anywhere he could go.

Spack Alice, you don't appear to be enjoying supporting United.

Why don't you carry on supporting Arsenal instead?

posted on 14/4/25

It's be stupid getting rid of him now, after making such an investment in him, without giving him a proper chance with a pre-season and some more of his kind of players.

If the football is still like this at this stage next season though then I'd tend to agree he should go. Big improvements need to be made. Let's see if we can get the personnel in for that.

What a laughable comment and it shows your lack of knowledge.

Bruno had his best season under Ole. The fact he’s replicating something similar now does NOT show improvement as he had previously shown this level under a different manager.

Amad’s best moment came against Liverpool last season, again under another manager so not improved has he?

Yoro is OK nothing special from what ive seen.

I think it depends on Berrada. Apparently he’s a big fan of Xavi so I could see a change if he fails to win the Europa.

His appointment is a disaster. Time to sack him. Xavi would turn us around in 1/2 transfer windows.

No. 7 is a bit unfair. He's constantly saying how he hasn't been good enough, how Moyes has done better, how he makes more mistakes than the players etc. If anything I'd say he's been too self-critical, which can seem desperate.

With a a proper manager, we turn it around in 2 transfer windows.

With Amorim and his awful ‘specialist’ system it’ll take about 6 transfer windows!!

Wake up people ffs!!!!

EIGHT one stars tells you all you need to know. You're a prize plonker and everyone disagrees with you.

This manager has signed 1 player who is 20 and not had a pre season yet ffs. This is why i was so ademant ETH should have been sacked in summer. Whoever inherited this team mid season was on a hiding to nothing.

Xavi would have been exactly the same. The team isn't good enough.

posted on 14/4/25

There is a reason we've looked better in the last few years when we sit back. When we do that we don't have to run as much. Until we raise the physicality in the squad then we'll always struggle no matter what manager is in charge.
