All I want for Easter is to be able to enjoy the final two games of the season without having to go to A&E with chest pains...
Morning all🌞 and thanks for the MDT Earl👍.
So, yes I’m going for a win for us and loss for Sheff U = promotion party here we come😁👍.
It’s written in the stars that Paddy gets the winning goal that sends us up (don’t tell Batty🤣).

The last 3 great victories have been by a one goal margin putting us all through crazy levels of stress and anxiety but I'm hopeful of a repeat of the last time we got promoted and that season thumped Stoke so I'll go Leeds 5 Stoke 0

Thanks Admin once again and appreciated
Happy Easter and all that
On a related note, and if my maths are correct,
Prem relegation is now down to 4 teams.
Saints relegated already. Leicester need to beat
Liverpool today and then win their remaining
games while also needing to score 28 goals more
than West Ham. Ipswich need to win their 5
remaining games and score 31 more goals than
West Ham. West Ham being the only other team
even close to those three in the relegation zone.
(Spurs & Wolves are safe).
Highly unlikely the Hammers relinquish the 17th
spot to either of those two. In other words, 3 up,
same 3 straight back down. Not the seasons all
three hoped for.
I desperately want us to go up (we all do). But,
good grief it is going to be a massive test with
what seems an air of inevitability.
Basically, enjoy the ever living crap out of today
and tomorrow. Hope like heck we seal promotion.
Then party non-stop until August. And maybe the
club can pull off a great summer window. To give
us at the very least a puncher's chance next season.
Batty…I suppose the goal is to be better than the other two promoted teams and one other? It’s hard to identify which team we could possibly be better than next season until it all begins. But I guess we need to get used to not winning again - the last 4 seasons in the Championship (2 pre prem and 2 post prem) we have won a lot of matches. That is fun….but we also know where we need to be. And somehow hang in there.
Apart from nerves, should be an easy win. Not sure Stoke will spend there better players trying to win a game at Elland Rd, they'll have bigger fish to fry in order to avoid the drop. Free hit for them but that means they probably won't try as hard to stop us as others would earlier in the season.
Fancy a draw or 2-1 Burnley in the other game so expecting promotion tomorrow night.
So Ipswich Leicester and Southampton confirmed relegated today and tomorrow we have a chance to be promoted. Feels good to be replacing them after the stick we took end of last season.
Yes we are walking into battle next season armed with peashooters but bring it on!! Hopefully the recruitment team can find an upgrade
Not only have the three promoted clubs been relegated, none of them has been close to staying up. Whichever two clubs go up with Leeds will be strong favourites to come straight back down. It's a sad state of affairs but it is the reality.
If we want to have a realistic chance of survival, we need to buy big, buy well and buy early.
But let's enjoy tomorrow first.
But let's enjoy tomorrow first.

100%
IF we go up , I am not tempting fate, but if we do, the PL has virtually become a closed shop, whereby promoted teams are more than likely to be relegated the following season. It’s hard for me to say this, but, it really requires a Red Bull takeover to probably stabilise us in the PL and see us survive and prosper. The PL has become an absolute disaster in terms of fairness.
Leeds will need to spend a lot of they go up and the gap is getting bigger but I do also think the last two years has just had a poor set of promoted teams.
If Leicester didn't lose their manager, they may have had a much better season. How would we have done if we lost Bielsa when we went up?
Ipswich massively punched above their weight to go up and were not a top championship team on paper. Lot of momentum in their promotion.
Southampton really didn't deserve to go up but also didn't get any recruitment right at all and had no balls to stand by their manager.
I do think we can be different. Fulham, Bournemouth, Brentford, Forest all up recently and flying. So did we first season.

.... it really requires a Red Bull takeover to probably stabilise us in the PL and see us survive and prosper. .
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why ?
We're limited to the amount we spend and 49ers have got more than enough money for that amount. So why do Red Bull need to take over ?
If we go up......
...I'm estimating we can spend upto £150m this summer and stay within FFP.
Mind you, that's probably our full 3 year budget!
So we're in the mire if we need to spend anything large in the following 2 summers ☹️
Am guessing they'd spend £100m plus funds from player sales.
I was thinking around £75m net spend max.
We are going to have to be blinking brilliant in the market
Blow the budget, take a 6 point slap on the wrist. Mind you they’ll slap us harder than Everton and Forest. Wonder if Leicester will now face the music in the EFL.
We are going to have to be blinking brilliant in the market
^^^
We need to be close to 'Raphina' level finds this summer. Every signing needs to be a hit. No fck ups.
No sentimentality. Be ruthless. If we get cute and
start thinking "we'll be fine with this squad plus a
top keeper..." then we'll be in massive trouble.
There are players out there that can be had for
small fees compared to the usual mega bucks Prem
signings who can also do a job. Brentford and
Brighton have built their clubs on this approach.
In the past three games, we have shown a resilience and focus in our play that makes me think we are going to secure another three points. Darlow has calmed the defence and with DJ back on board, I am hoping for a stress-free 3-0 win to get us over the line, with Burnley and the Blades to play out a 0-0 draw.
This being the end of Passover, I cannot think of a more appropriate goalscorer than Manor to bring us back to the promised land!
Morning all🌞.
So, the biggest day since Auntie Mabel got her tiits caught in the mangle.
Excited. Exhilarated. Expectant. Elated. Elevated. Exuberant. Electrified. Enthusiastic. Enlivened. Eager. Euphoric.
Eeeeee-by-gum!
💙🤍💛
Morning light, just off to bed, no work today.
Think we'll cruise this like we always do.
No drama, no tension just goals galore.
3-0 James, Solomon and Bamford.
Marching on to the title 👍

The PL is a closed shop? Total nonsense. Yes it's getting harder but it only takes the likes of a Fulham, Everton etc not to spend wisely and maybe have a few injuries and it becomes a different ball game if a promoted team or teams does spend wisely without the injuries which will happen at some point.
Steross17 a great point about taking the points deduction and splash the cash. FFP or whatever you want to call it was a great idea but has backfired big time. The clubs that had already got into a strong position have all the aces. Then for example Forest blatantly breaking rules and hardly punished. As for Man City etc, punishment to reflect their crimes is probably impossible sadly. What a mess the PL has become after initially being superb.
I'm not convinced it's as hard to survive as the last 6 promoted teams have made it look. Obviously difficult but they have either made a right mess of it, Burnley, Sheff Utd, Southampton, Leicester. Or just had way too much to do, Ipswich & Luton.
No excuse for the club not to show the ambition required to have a decent season anyway.
Just don't go wasting the budget on a squad of 26 players when quality signings and in key positions are whats needed.
