She does also say that she thinks that Wrighty *is* aware of how much he does.
She’s saying that he’s cognisant of the issue (which, knowing him as we do, I’d expect him to be).
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I would also imagine the producers are also very much aware of finding the right balance and the fact that Wright is still offered the gig is recognition of the merits of having him in the role - as others have discussed above, he has been a champion of the women's game, he brings quality in his skill and knowledge, a recognisable expert voice and a degree of gravitas.
They will have made the judgement that, on balance, he this is worth having as part of their team, and no doubt they will have pitched it to Wrighty in asking him to take the role.
I think i have seen Emile Heskey do some analysis stuff in the past. Now that to me is far more "jobs for the boys", an appointment not providing the merits of Wright and more obviously blocking the path of others.

Haha no I do take your point, but I really don’t think she’s said much wrong at all, and it seems no-one can point to anything specific that she’s said wrong either.
It’s got more attention that Barton though, which is quite interesting to me, not least as he’s just lost yet another defamation case against… Aluko.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't think she's necessarily wrong, I mean if you break it down there are only so many punditry opportunities on TV and Wright is taking a chunk of them. So asking for awareness of that is not the worst thing to ask for.
IMO it feels a little off to call out probably the most recognisable supporter of women's football from the men's game. And Wright isn't (imo) trying to ride the wave of popularity the women's game has recently gathered; he's been an advocate for women's football for a very long time.
Even with Wright's advocacy, I think the point would be more readily accepted if the individual making the comment wasn't a full time broadcaster herself. If it were someone like Emma Hayes, who is essentially a manager who does a bit of punditry, you could see it as more of a generic point. With Aluko it's difficult to see past the clear personal interest here.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Is he taking the chunk of them? Isn't Alex Scott taking the chunk of presenter roles?
Why doesn't she mention that?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Because that’s very obviously not the point she’s making.

I did and have done so a couple of times before passing judgement.
Firstly, I want to get it out there, I am not sure why Joey Barton, the thug, is being brought up. Anyone that supported him against her needs their head examining.
On this specific matter, she is starting to come across as someone with a victim mentality. I hate victim mentality with a passion. Whether what she was saying is taken out of context is besides the point; she knew exactly what she was getting at, and I am sure she is bright enough to know the ramifications. It is just absolutely poor to call out a bloke who is probably one of the biggest advocates for women in football.
He recently paid out of his own pocket for a woman football to get her ACL surgery. And believe you me that surgery is not cheap because I paid for it recently.

Football is football, while there's probably slightly more nuance about the dressing rooms respective to gender, I think once you're commenting about what's happening on the pitch anyone can have a voice. People don't moan about the majority of sports journalists that haven't played to any standard.
That said, Aluko is an idiot. Wright has done so much to progress the womens game that all he's done is create more opportunity within it.

Yup, she's bright. Yup, she's set up scholarships out her own pocket similar to Wright. Look at her background and career and she's quite the thrusting professional in whatever endeavour she is chasing at the time.
