Tottenham - Latest odds for next manager.

I think It will be Thomas Frank in the Summer regardless of the Europa result. You cant lose 20+ league games in season & finish 16th or 17th if you're Spurs manager.. Its the "bread & Butter" of your domestic Football (its what pays the bills, TV Revs, Final position etc).. The Europa (while nice to win) isn't the premier European competition... The only thing that keeps you in job at a big club finishing where we will is a Champion League. I don't think Levy cares about the glory (if you can call it that) of winning the Europa... he just wants CL qualification for the cash it brings

What a sorry lot to pick from. Especially the so called favourite. The whole lot between them have never won a bean in the Prem.

Keep Ange, pay him what he wants to stay.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I’d take literally any of them over Ange.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeh but you have low standards.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Lower than 16th in the league?

Face it, Ange isn’t even championship level.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yet here we are in the Europa League SF, a competition we qualified for after ending 5th
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Blimey Devonshire don't tell them that it don't fit their agenda. Imagine finishing 5th 1st season, and winning a trophy 2nd season. Ange would be the first Spurs manager to achieve that.

One thing is for sure, it won't be Poch, sadly.

Levy refused to even consider him when he was free two summers ago. He's hardly likely to buy him out of his USA contract at a steep sum of 18m nor would Pochettino even break his contract with them. That's not his style. He's a pretty loyal, decent guy, and I just don't think he'd jump ship one year before his team host a World Cup. If he were free, I think Levy might consider it as a decent option to appease an angry fan base, but he won't pay that compensation.

With that in mind, I'd personally be happy with Frank. I think he has the personality to cope with the step up and lord knows we need that feel good factor back. I also think he's a pretty adaptable coach. He plays the way he does know because it suits Brentford. i don't think he's wedded to one style. Iraola I think is just another Ange, personally. Flavour of the month. The very fact he's rumoured to want to stay at Bournemouth tells you everything about his ambition. I think the bigger club thing might swallow him up a little.

Why is Xavi on this list? What on earth are his credentials as a manager? He couldn't get a tune out of a Barca side now storming La Liga and favourites for the CL under Flick. He has no right to even be considered in my opinion. We need to stop fluttering our eyelids just because they were brilliant on the pitch. It's meaningless, unless he wants to put his boots back on, in which case I'll take him.

lots of source talk up Parker and say Levy likes him too meh
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I kinda think its lazy journos:

Burnley got promoted
Parker used to play for Spurs
Burnley dont let in goals

= perfect man for the Spurs job.

You never know how it might turn out but i would be seriously underwhelmed by Parker. His CV is worse than Ange's and the football would not be great.

It would come across as another YES man, cheap option.

For me Poch would overall be Levy's safest bet as it he would have the fans goodwill for an extended period he could hardly be criticised for bringing back a much loved successful manager.

Iraola, is the form choice, but still a bit risky because its a very different level at Spurs and expectations of fans.

Is Xavi the next Pep or Enrique or Alonso...who knows. A risk but may be worth a punt? Pedigree is good, CV is OK

Frank, has done a really great job in a club with low expectations where he is regarded as a God. Spurs or any big club would be a very different kettle of fish.

Silva i think has found his level and has his team over performing, which is to his credit, but not sure that transfers easily to Spurs.

McKenna, no chance. Even saw Lampard touted the other day Another man whose done well at a certain level but failed at a higher one, that said his CV is better than Parkers

Yes, but that same side have improved infinitely since. Plus they were Barcelona and had invested heavily. His only credentials really are managing one of the biggest sides in Europe. I don't think, personally, that's the acid test to prove he can do the business at Spurs. It's a different job entirely. I'd much rather see a manager get more out of the sum of their parts as an audition for the Spurs job because realistically, that's what any candidate would likely face with us. Xavi hasn't proved that in the same way the likes of Frank have. Pochettino is the blueprint and if we can't get him back, we need someone like him.

I do agree, but he was also at Barca through their massive financial crisis although. That hampered their progress and the talent coming through now was not really at Xavi's disposal.

I think he still has a lot to prove to say he's a top class manager. But i would have said the same about Enrique 2 years ago and now he is proving how good he really is.

If we were taking a big punt on a meh CV, i'd rather see Xavi than Scotty!

Are Dev and Sandy still banging the Ange drum?

At this point it's just stubbornness. We all know Ange has been a total disaster yet here they are justifying his staying on because we've made the Europa semis by beating a long list of poor sides. Getting to the final is a par performance. That's why us and United (also awful) are both still in it. It's not an Ange triumph but a second tier European competition with no CL teams allowed in it.

Your determination to back Ange at this point really reminds me of this knight...

Don't mater who we get in if Levy is at the helm and calling all the shots we will never move forward to compete with the elite clubs. In his reign we had some world class managers and they all failed ultimately because they never got what they asked for.

Sure we will probably get a competent enough manager as even Levy will have learned his lesson from the current idiot in charge.

Never banged the Ange drum. The only thing i have said is that he deserved a chance to get us back in form with our key players back and that I did not think it would be good to sack him prior to the Frankfurt game, as many were calling for after the Chelsea defeat.

His recent team selections have annoyed me and while i can understand that he needs to protect the squad he has not found the right balance and the league form suffers as a result. He hasn't been able to show that with his full squad we can address the issues that have plagued his reign so while i understand a focus on the Europa, his approach to massively weaken the weekend line-ups is just further evidence that his approach is flawed if Spurs cannot risk players more than once a week. What's he gonna do if we won this cup and made the UCL? Look at Amorim's last line up. No wrapping their key players up vs Bournemouth. Its about trying to get some consistency in their play. Meanwhile our 2 CBs have barely kicked a ball in a fortnight.

If we had an upturn in form since March, when most players were back, and made the Europa final then there could be an argument to keep him on but the league form remains dire. Isolated good performances to get us through knock out games is not good enough alone, IMO.

Not sure why he wouldn't be in that list above. Seems quite an obvious candidate.

Personally I'd still like Iraola if we could get him, as he has those Poch (in 2014) vibes and I think that would be a good fit for these players. Otherwise I'll be fine with Poch himself coming back. Glasner or Frank I'd be ok with too.

You are going around saying Bode are a good side. Make your mind up.

And teams like Roma and Frankfurt are not poor sides. Before Spurs played both you were saying they were good sides and would beat Spurs.

You really are amusing Fridge. Not sure you know your backside from your elbow.
