Woakes is a tad washed

He'll defo be on a tour soon. I know it's only vs Derbs in Div 2 but those figures are insane (he's batting at 3 as well, so not just coming in for a late hit)

I don't mind Dawson being ahead of him for now but the feel is his bowling isn't quite up to consistent standard. Then again, they've given Bashir loads of goes so <shrug>

Saw someone say he's on his Steve Smith arc and I reckon that's right. If he gets in the team it feels like it's as a bat or maybe a batting all rounder.

13fer is seriously good but leggies need so much control at Test level otherwise they get so exposed

I’m probably too harsh on Dawson but not a fan of choosing a decent spin bowler who feels like a part timer as your main spinner cause he’s also a good batter

He looks really talented but he’s a pup so it’s no surprise he wasn’t ready for internationals in the appearances he’s had. Hopefully when he next gets back in he’ll be ready.

I’m more excited about his brother, he looks ridiculous for his age and we need a good spinner.

Dawson deserved to play for England with his county cricket form over the past few seasons. I am just surprised they picked him given they haven't really traditionally gone for that kind of pick under McCullum and Stokes. Sam Cook likewise when he was picked for Zimbabwe. I think its important to reward good county form even if they don't stick.

Ten overs violence in the morning then we’ll have two days to bowl them out. Fantastic last two days for England.

Looks a different pitch now to the first four sessions. Im not sure how easy it will be to bowl them out to be honest.

Today was probably the best day for batting. My weather app says there is a bit of rain around Manchester the next few days (typical Old Trafford test). That will bring cloud cover though which will hopefully benefit England. I think spin will be important over the next few days, so big opportunity for Dawson.
