I seriously have to question anyone who thinks Mount should be a starter for us.

If Cunha does arrive, he will be one of 2 behind the CF. Obviously he has to prove himself with us, but i can see why we would put him there. I look at Mount and think, he is nothing like that, why would we want him up there. I know Amorim likes him, but there really must be something I am not seeing in him.

Part of me thinks maybe we should go all out for someone like Eze, and the fact we have 2 players who just have real creative spark that whoever is up front, surely we would score more goals regardless............

That was always the problem with Mount when he played for us. There is a good footballer there, without question. But where do you play him? He's not really creative enough to be playing as a 10, and he's not a winger. And he's not got the tools to be in a midfield 2, unless you've got a prime Makalele to put alongside him.

Box to box in a 4-3-3 is possible. But your manager isn't going to play that kind of setup unless he decides to go 3-5-2, is he? That's not really the kind of formation that you'd expect a side shooting to get back to the top table to roll out.

Maybe he can do a job in the next couple of transition seasons. But it's going to be a problem after that.

Yes, Branthwaite. We should never have messed around with him. It would have made a statement and we’d have a long-term defender to rely on.

I think the way forward is going to have to be to having a core of English players with Euro or South American players around them.

The rumours are we have £100m to spend before sales which seems pretty high. Cunha and Delap would take most if not all of the £100m. After that it all depends who we sell, I’m still not convinced the Saudi’s are will to spend £300m (including wages) on Bruno or that he wants to move there. I’d love it if we were able to move on Rashford, Sancho, Antony and Casemiro but as I’ve said for a while I’m skeptical we’ll be able to get buyers for any of them for different reasons. Don’t we still owe £300m in unpaid purchases, I’m not sure how much money we can even spend on anything we make from sales.

Interesting reading about Ashworth sacking again. So he basically was against the idea of hiring Amorim because of the cost to make such large changes for a manager that requires a very different system and so was made to leave. Obviously this could be the wrong take from his sacking but it seems plausible and also raises the question who is in charge if it isn’t Sporting Director.

Maguire has become so overrated by our fan base. He’s been pretty average defensively and because he’s scored a few big goals it’s put the blinkers on some.

CB is the last area we need to be signing players in re summer imo.

I agree, it would be nice to have an extra CB but GK, LWB, CM, ACM and ST are of far greater importance.

Dreamland - we lost out on around £100m revenue losing that final. We may get Cunha, we will not sign 4-5 players of similar value.

Can you afford both Cunha and Branthwaite? I can't see why either player would join this Utd team.

I can't see why we need Branthwaite. He'd cost a fortune and we've got millions of defenders.
