Losing this game means sod all in the grand scheme of things coming as it does less than 72 hours after the last PL game of the season.

A ridiculous response.
Look at the manager and tell me it means nothing. He aged nearly 10 years during those 90 minutes.
You fail to realise the magnitude of this mess.

SACK THE MANAGER, FOOL!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What are you talking about??
Just embraced what we are now. The fact people think a change of manager at this point is going to make much difference is the hilarious thing.
I wanted ETH sacked because he wasted £600m and deserved it. I was under no illusions what it was going to take for Ruben to turn it around.
I have made peace with what we are now. Until the parasites sell up.....we aren't moving forwards as a club. Only backwards.

…..
This would be the right time to sack him.
It would be a bit stupid sacking him halfway through next season.
The sentiments expressed in this thread are valid but one also has to ask why we needed the £8m so bad? Surely it would have been more valuable to have our players training or resting during this time?
It seems to me like the players have mentally checked out, and are probably trying to avoid injury. I can't really blame them.

Sell up to who? Jim the rat?
It's incredible how badly Ole and Ten Hag did back to back that the rot that was there when Ole first took over just got progressively worse. Feel sorry for Amorim, he'll need a lot of time to improve things.

One of the things I have read about Ferguson is that even in friendlies he lost his head.
I know it is tiresome to keep talking about the great man. But this idea/ mentality that "this is just a friendly" is one of the contributing factors to our downfall. Elite winners want to win all the time. It is about developing good habits.
I am sure the manager is aware of that, thus the reason he was agitated throughout that game.

VC, I went to Stellenbosch recently for some wine tasting. I don't know what's in that wine but I have been in agreement with most of your commentary.
If we do not sack him now, I want us to stick with him throughout the season.

finished club. Very much enjoying watching all this unfold
It is only a friendly, played on the other side of the world, four days after playing Villa in an important game.
So I'm not going to get worked up about it.

I am not sure these players have done much to be tired.
They were playing a pub team.
This is about habits.
Facking hell, the bedwetters on here
It’s a post-season kick about in 30-odd degree heat, played right after a ten hour flight, in which we started two kids who are yet to make a senior appearance, and a bunch of other kids played.
Tbf we shouldn't even be angry at Jimbo. All he's doing is speeding up the process of a sale happening.
Let's not beat around the bush. This is a car crash of a start for INEOS as 'operators'. Two embarrassing sagas with Ashworth and Ten Hag and a 15th place finish in your first full season isn't exactly going to gain confidence in the fanbase.
Apparently if he's not bought out the rest of the shares by January then the Glazers can sell the club to somebody else and force Jim to sell his stake.
He's not going to buy the club I don't think. I actually thought he might do when he first came in but his facial expressions every time you see him look like a man who knows hes' made a bad investment. Just don't see him doubling down. Billionaires don't get that rich and make the same mistake twice.

I do have to agree with you in that Football clubs (in general) are not good investment. The Glazers is a unique story and they have milked the club dry. Anyone who buys this club now is not going to make a quick buck for a good decade. We need an owner who is coming into this not to make quick gains but for other reasons. What these other reasons maybe might not be everyone's cup of team. I say to those folks, wake up.
