Without any signings whatsoever, this team would improve enormously just by moving on Onana and Hojlund.

It wouldn't really. We need some less selfish attacking players that look to create for others rather than shoot all the time.

Amad being available for the full season would be a big help with that. As will the signings of Cunha & hopefully Mbeumo.

I suspect that Hojlund will be sold or loaned now, as his confidence is shot to hell. But if he does end up staying, I think that he would be much improved next season, as Amorim starts to shape his squad.

You're pinning a lot of hope on two players who are quite injury prone, Amad and Cunha. I'd like to have your optimism, but I've already put a bet on Cunha getting injured very soon into his United career, with Amad following soon after.

Cunha has played 65 out of the last 76 Premier League games and he's had a few suspensions in there too so I don't think his record his bad at all.

Yeh, a quick Google shows that he has missed 9 game through injury in the last 3 seasons. I guess some people just like to be miserable.

posted on 4/6/25

Yeah, not sure where he’s got this idea that Cunha’s injury prone.

Amad is a concern, though. And if we get Mbeumo then we’d be potentially without both over Xmas/New Year, busiest time of the year, due to AFCON and injury.

Getting money for Hojlund would be a bonus as he’s one of the worst footballers to ever play for Manchester United.

No time for fact checking. Must be miserable. I hate us.

Google Cunha injury history and go to the transfer market website.
He's had 7 injuries over the last few years, lots of muscle injuries including two hamstring injuries.

In 2024/25, Matheus Cunha made 36 appearances across all competitions for Wolves, and the only Premier League matches missed were due to suspension.

While there may be some concerns about Cunha’s attitude and discipline, there will be none about his injury record.

United’s newest arrival did not suffer a single injury last season, and he only missed seven games in Wolves’ 2023/24 campaign due to a hamstring injury.

Season Games missed through injury
2024/25 0
2023/24 7
2022/23 2
2021/22 11
2020/21 9

He has missed 7 games for Wolves in 2 seasons whilst playing in a very physically demanding league. Is that really a cause for concern? Think you're being a bit dramatic here.

I'd be delighted if all of our squad only missed 3.5 games per season each with injuries.

Fingers crossed Shaw can have a somewhat injury free season. I don’t think it’s a coincidence we have better seasons when he does.

There can’t be ‘lots’ of any specific type of injury when you just said in the same sentence there was only 7 injuries in total across ‘a few years’.

He plays a huge role in our build-up play and gives us balance. Its not a coincidence, in my opinion, that Hojlund enjoyed a decent spell for us when Shaw was available. As soon as he got injured again we regressed massively in our play.

4 injuries in a decade, and barely for any time.

Cunha

Big old list in a shorter time frame, and out for over a month for a couple.

We are known for hiring broken duds, so my doubt can be expected.
Your optimism is misplaced, though.

Plus playing for wolves isn't the same as playing for United, we play way more games than they do throughout a season.

Anyway, he looks a decent player and obviously I hope he does well and stays fit, but the last decade or more of recruitment is enough evidence to cast doubt in the minds of some fans, like me.

We often go further through the rounds in cup games, wolves do not.
But yes, this season no Europe of course and we're only hoping it's just for a season..... Our expectations are to be in Europe where we will be playing a lot more games than wolves, where he will be involved in the majority of them.

Bruno is an absolute freak. You're grasping at straws comparing against him and you know it. As is speculating what might happen if and when he has to play more games at United.

Sometimes it's OK to just hold your hands up and admit you got something wrong.

If someone has a knee injury in the 2021 season and it kept him out for a month, and has not missed a single minute due to a knee injury since and were in 2025 then it’s obviously not a recurring thing.

Sure, what about the 6 or 7 muscular injuries, two of them being hamstring injuries.
