I’ve been all over the place between head and heart on the sacking and made my piece with it as I thought it would be Frank but now I’m not so sure
Regarding the players being upset and gutted etc I think they were on easy street with Ange and liked it. It’s like losing the boss you liked at work cos he let you have as many ciggy breaks as you wanted but ultimately he wasn’t good enough being replaced by the axe wielding workaholic that only allowed you one cigarette a day but is better at his job
Yes he took all the criticism from the media and didn’t deflect but again should he have? Think there were a few games last season he should have turned on them Conte style ….another reason the players liked him. They were hiding behind him

Expressions with some classic one liners again 😂
His games won and games lost is mad. Not many draws lol.
I also think, on the flip side, that part of the reason for Ange's departure is precisely because he made calls for more experience within the squad. He did recognise the failings within recruitment. Experience costs money and with a trophy behind him, he had more leverage. Sacking him could have easily been a strategy move to ensure that whoever comes in is a little more diplomatic and pliable in the face of a more youth-orientated policy, with little in the way of power.
The truth is that if we keep buying young to drive the wage bill down (which I have a huge issue with Levy for) then we won't make progress. Ange was absolutely right. We now need experience in the ranks. Preferably a few winners with good standards.

My god, Twitter is an utter cesspit. The cult of Ange is very real. Someone on there has written this...
"Ange is not just a manager, he's the culture, the identity, without him we are finished"
We finished 17th in the league, lost 22 out of 38 games and over his tenure accrued 78 points out of 66 games, which is just shy of relegation form. We it not for wins against Alkmaar, Frankfurt, Bodo and United, he'd be laughed out of the high road. I was happy to give him a little longer on the strength of the Europa League win alone but the reactions of some fans is just nuts. We've been on the slide for a long time.
An anonymous PL manager, as was reported yesterday, has described Ange's style as naive and easy to exploit.
—
Clearly not our manager as he failed 4 times
I've been making that exact same point for a while. If the players are on your side and you're still losing so many games then it can only be a question of the ineptitude of the tactics. I mean we even saw Maddison mouth off on camera during a match that he doesn't know why were playing the way we were.
Ange is good for his motivational speeches and it's probably why fans like him, but without tactics it won't get you very far.

In my entire life, 43 years on planet Earth, I have never seen such a cult like following for a manager, ever. Liverpool fans didn’t even behave like this when Klopp left. Man Utd didn’t behave like this when Fergie retired. Somehow, Postecoglou, a man that just lost 22 league games. 10 home losses in the league. Finished one place above relegation. Had a negative goal difference. Confronted our fans aggressively, more than once. Cupped his ears at our fans. Snapped at journalists weekly. Managers come and go and I am pleased to see this man go.
With our horrendous injury list and targeting the of the Europa cup we clearly were not playing from a level playing field so to assume Ange would not have feared better with additional backing is just plain daft.
I might as well put Money on City to finish 13 points again behind Liverpool next season as Football clearly works to a certain logic
The team is clearly better than where we finished. The stats been thrown around where the back 4 of Micky van de Ven, Destiny Udogie, and Pedro Porro achieved 15 wins, 2 draws, and 3 losses, resulting in a 75% win percentage is not to be sniffed.
Clearly Better than watching a centre pairing of Spence and Gray in the second half against Newcastle this season!!
Pretty certain If we had the majority of that back 4 or perhaps adequate backups we would have done much better this season.

Of course Spurs would have. But it is like banging your head against a brick wall trying to tell so e of our fanbase facts like when you get your best back four on the pitch all at the same time. All they keep saying is Spurs lost 10 of their last 12 prem matches when the best players were back from injury. Conveniently forgetting the fact that none of them were actually starting Prem matches.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
It got him further that any Spurs manager has in the last 17 years.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That and the other circumstances that worked in his favour.
