Good riddance.
No player is bigger than this club.
I do not care one iota what he goes on to do, this fella is a bad apple. Attitude stinks. Entitled!
A player like this in our heyday a bit part player. It shows how bad we have fallen, that a player the quality of Nacho feels like he should be starting every game. A travesty!
Bad move long term.
He will turn out to be a top player, who as usual, we won’t get a good fee for due to the manager / club handling the situation poorly.
We will be playing with 4 at the back and wingers again before long, with a squad full of number 10’s and wingbacks.
There is a reason prem clubs and top European clubs want him, but as usual, I guess our wonderful recruitment strategy reigns supreme.
If this happened last summer I’d have been absolutely fuming, but he’s got a shoiit attitude and cannot score to save his life so I hope we get at least a good fee for him. Mbuemo and Cunha are miles better than him
He needs to go, along with Rashford, Sancho, Antony, Malacia, as well as Onana and Hoijlund if possible.
We've known this for a few weeks right? Hopefully with a few clubs interested we can get a good price.
He's a talent but I just don't think he really fits, his development has stagnated and there are question marks over his professionalism. He also didn't really come through the ranks at the club, we bought him for half a million when he was 16 so it's not like selling a youth player.

I'm fine with all those going and even Garnacho too begrudgingly.
If we sell Mainoo I won't be though. Need to get his new contract sorted and get him tied down. He's going to be a superstar in midfield.
Onana should be first on any list out

Steady mate. I don’t know about no Superstar.
Posted this a couple of weeks ago:
There are a bunch of factors with Garnacho which I guess have cumulatively led to this: the (granted, relatively limited) disciplinary issues; the problems with his family members’ comments and interference; his performances this season; the unsuitability of his game to a starting role in an Amorimball side, and the fact that he no doubt wouldn’t accept being a bench option; and being able to book effectively his entire transfer fee, which should be substantial, as profit for PSR purposes.
I don’t think anyone will be particularly excited about him leaving. But on balance, it seems like a fairly sensible decision given all of the above and the fact that it really is beyond time that we moved away from the kind of transition-dependent football which his game best suits.

Well said.
It is exactly that, entitlement.
The only thing in his defence is that I could never fault the effort he put in, unlike Rsshford and Sancho.
We'll buy him back for 80 million when Southgate becomes our manager
I do think Garnacho can/will go on to be a top player. But i also think it's a pretty sensible decision to sell right now. Both things can be true.
Garnacho just isn't at the level we need him to be at right now, and the fact is we can't really afford to wait for him. If we need to cash in to improve the squad in the more immediate term, it's the right call. It would be nice if we were in a position to ease him in a bit more, but we're not.
I would be disappointed if its true that the asking price is only around £40m though. Especially if he goes to a PL club.

Been watching him since he was a kid pal in academy. Could tell with Greenwood and same with Kobbie. A level above.
Mainoo already proven against Pep and Klopp teams he's the man for the big occasion and come up with huge goals. That's not forgetting the Lyon 4-4 goal and the last minute wonder goal away to Wolves.
This lad is going to be a superstar. We need to get him fit and healthy and work on his stamina. He's got everything else already.

Entitled to your opinion. It's totally wrong but you're entitled to it all the same.
I think your being blinkered by the season he's just had which was stop start with injuries and a change of system didn't help either.
He's a brilliant footballer. Genuinely can't understand how you can't see that.
This lad is going to be a superstar. We need to get him fit and healthy and work on his stamina. He's got everything else already.
………
You can’t really work on stamina. Yes you can slightly improve it but it will reach a ceiling.
The issue for me is his lack of pace over 10 - 15 yards. You can’t be that slow at the top level.

Wasn't an issue really when he broke through in Erik's team. I just think we've got people writing him off (not you VC) on the back of what was a dreadful season for pretty much the whole squad. He also had injuries too which didn't help.
I think he's going to become an outstanding CM for somebody. Hope it's with us but if he goes to Chelsea don't be shocked if he turns into a world beater like Palmer did.
Just turned 20 as well in April. Massive potential.

He has ability alright, there is no doubting that.
I personally think Greenwood is a level higher and has a higher ceiling.
I also disagree on the stamina front, my issue is with his pace: he is not technically sound enough to play in midfield because he does not dictate the tempo of a game, he is much more effectively further forward. The problem is, Bruno occupies that space.
I could see him being a very very good player in Italy or Spain no doubt.
I'm not sure about Mainoo, in the PL anyway. There's clearly talent and he seems like a good lad but stamina and pace are 2 things you will struggle without in the middle of the pitch in the PL and are also things you can't develop really.
Technically he's very good, he's quite strong on the ball, keeps his head up, can score, press resistant, keeps the ball moving. But without the stamina and (less so) pace he's gonna struggle. He'd probably boss things somewhere like Serie A.
SE
He will probably be fine in a three man midfield. I don’t see it work for him for us as we don’t ever look like playing 4-3-3.
I also think he breaktrough season was overrated a little. He undoubtably had some great moments but he also went missing a lot in games, which is completely understandble seeing as he was only 18. So I don't think fans are basing him just on the season gone where he had a lot of injures and never got going, there was also signs the season before.
I wold love for him to make it, I'm just a little skeptical because of the skillset needed in the PL that he lacks.
Yeah he isn't the quickest but in the brain he's much quicker than most.
Also lack of pace isn't really a good excuse when Ugarte, Casemiro and Bruno are the regular starters. None of these are fast players whatsoever.
Paul Scholes and Roy Keane were never blessed with great pace either. If anything both were on the slower side however they were tremendous footballers. Carrick level just below those two but again wasn't fast.
Mainoo is the future.
