League form not great ! Seriously we’ve been shocking for 12-14 months now. Read the Stan Collymore article. https://x.com/stancollymore/status/1931020724304478374?s=46
I liked him but one cup win can’t mask the really poor league form. Let’s not forget the defeat at home to Ipswich etc etc.

It's harsh but fair on balance.

I think what we could not afford to do is what Utd have done and waste an entire season.

Summer is the best time to start over.

What i found interesting about the club statement was that they were explicit on the points achieved, quite a clear criticism of results and they also referred to a decision to focus on the Cup. I have also seen reports that the Board didn't want such a single focus so I wonder whether Anges insistence on doing that annoyed them, and whether it was viewed more as Ange delivering on his promise, so he doesn't look stupid rather than doing what may be perceived as best for the club. The statement refers to fighting on many fronts and while Ange proved he could win a cup, he has no proven that he can make us consistenet or challenge more than one thing at a time. A lot of unknowns and may be perceived as too risky to go into a season with not much idea of whether it will get any better (in the league)

I think I may not have done a great job of highlighting the sarcasm in my post...

Dont trust Levy to get the next appointment right.

My point was that Juande Ramos won us a trophy and got sacked because of our performance in the league bi don't remember a huge outcry over his sacking.

Juande Ramos got given the next season after his cup win unlike Ange has.

Bit daft hearing the players in tears thats he's gone. I wonder if he won that last game instead of getting a hiding it would have changed a few fans minds. Maybe even Levy.

The board need to deliver the squad to ‘fight in many fronts’

Unfortunately it was the right decision, he had to go, my concern is the list of replacements that I'm seeing thrown around, none are really what is needed and there could be another quick turnaround, important that we have stability for the next 3 or 4 years

Many years of mediocrity I suspect will follow for Spurs. Expect all the better players to leave over the next couple of years. Why would any player or manager join, when winning a trophy does not seem to be a priority. But finishing top six does.

He got 8 league games. Our league performance was dreadful but according to many on here that shouldn't matter if we still won a trophy.

It's not even harsh, barely over a 1pt average per game over the last 60 games.

The only controversial thing is that he wasn't removed at Christmas or sooner. The teams we had to play in the Europa would have just as likely been beaten with a new manager (I can't guarantee that, obviously) and our defensive structure would have been good as opposed to non existent.

I cannot believe the amount of people that either had or are having a change of heart based on those 90 minutes.

You do not base a decision on one game.

I look forward to next season, instead of dreading the next league game, where we were basically getting pummelled, but as hard as I tried, I couldn't stop watching.

It wasn't based on one game. Spurs had to negotiate 15 matches to win the Tournament.

Didn’t really make sense because ramos did get to stay AFTER winning the trophy and was still shiet then got sacked.

Precisely this. The level of flip flopping and backtracking over just that one game is quite embarrassing to see, but not particularly surprising for football fans. Most I heard from thought he should go whether he won the Europa or not and then he does and the feeling completely changes.

One game with fine margins separated a disastrous job by a manager over the course of a season, from being some expert winner of trophies who will guarantee us another one next season...in some fans eyes. It's crazy!

This is what everyone said about Liverpool when Klopp retired. They won the league the next season with a manager that no one rated because he hadn't done anything outside Holland.

Me neither. The only flip floppers are those that wanted Ange out, then jumped on the bandwagon of the Bilbao cup success after saying there were better teams in the Europa, and Spurs wouldn't win it. Then saying Spurs only played pub teams to win it after they did.

Winning a trophy and getting CL football should have satisfied Levy.

Is Levy trying to overtake Sol.?

Much will depend upon the new manager and how the squad performs next season.
Foe example, if it wins the premiership why would any of the players want to leave?

Your doom & gloom is a little early don't you think?
