While I can understand people might have a disliking for Musk. That should not detract from the incredible work his companies are doing.

Most people have no idea self driving cars are even a thing.

Some people I know visited San Fran a month or two ago, and they rode in a self-driving taxi there. Waymo (Alphabet/Google) use a model of Jaguar, and Zoox (Amazon) is in the business too.

FSD is showing Lidar is not needed. and not using it will be one of FSD's advantages.

Waymo is certainly in the business, and have been operating for a while now, taking passengers from a to b and are a common sight.

But there is a big difference in how Waymo and Tesla have approached the problem. FSD is a generalised solution able to drive anywhere (or at least attempt it) Waymo is stuck in a certain area and cannot go outside of it.

Honestly if Tesla can prove out FSD. I cant see how Waymo can compete.
