Have they ignored his Champions League records against those elite teams from the top five leagues in Europe?

8 apps 6 goals?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
4 goals (2 penalties) in 4 appearances
Did we even get 2 pens all season?

His best season in the championship saw him outscored by Chuba Akpom and the Primeira Liga is full of clubs the size of our National League divisional sides (Casa Pia one week had a lesser attendance than Dartford who are the division below NLsouth)

Lots of question marks over him at the top level - hopefully he can answer them.

End of the day if we get him i will support him and hope he does well. He has great stats for past 2-3 years so if he can take the next leap forward we will have a top top striker. If not the search goes on.

Talks continue between Arsenal and Sporting over the signing of striker Viktor Gyokeres.

A gap in valuation remains - with Sporting thought to want £69m including add-ons.

While the clubs aren’t too far away from a compromise on an overall fee, it’s thought how much of that fee will be guaranteed is key.

Arsenal understood to be encouraged and impressed with the player’s desire to join, but they will be disciplined in their approach.

They have done due diligence on other targets if a deal cannot be struck with Sporting.
