Germany Tour

So in summary it would appear we are being lied to by Leeds United. Its clear that Farke prefers to have a tour without fans. The history is there for all to see. Every other club who have gone to Germany have taken fans.

So question I have is why do the club not just say
"We feel the best way forwards for the team is to play a few games behind closed doors. We feel this would be beneficial for the integration of new players and allow the team to become one in time for the new season. We are delighted to announce a home game against Villareal and to thank the fans for their understanding we will be making this a £15 ticket price only".

I think last season playing behind closed door was a lot about reintegrating Gnonto after his transfer request and Aaronson and Wober after they returned from their "loans".

This season we have Jack Harrison being reintegrated.

Is it really that unusual for some pre-season games to be behind doors? It's disappointing for fans, but for the team, it 's a warm-up before the main event, and the chance for Farke to try different options without the distraction of a crowd. It doesn't matter to me, but then again, I live in New Zealand, and nothing much matters down here.

I have no issue with behind closed doors matches for any number of reasons. It is weird the club are being so reticent about just saying it though.

I remember back in 1992 being stuck out in the middle of nowhere, Reflection Lake in Abel Tasman…asking why the hell I had chosen to go backpacking in New Zealand when Leeds were closing in on the title.

Does this mean Farke has the German Polizei working for him, because reports here were saying the Polizei didn't have the man power to control the games being played!..

I think the same reports were coming out of England or not?..

And yes, I'm as p!ssed of as anyone about it, Verl is less then an hour away from me and Paderborn just over an hour, and a couple of mates wanted to go with me but like last year again kicked in the nuts!..

I had to make do with seeing Stuart Dallas playing for Northern Ireland when Costa Rica beat them 3-0 over here a few years ago.

Does sound suspicious though!

It’s going to be hard for Farke to ever reverse out of this one if it is true.

Kebab, what are the reasons Leeds United are saying you can't go to watch?

but you think its Farke saying he wants them behind closed doors?

There was a number of years ago where Leeds played a pre-season against Frankfurt, their ultras took it upon themselves to have a crack at the Leeds fans, there was trouble, not caused by the Leeds fans but it did happen!..

Not to long back Leeds had a planned pre-season with Dresden, the German police canceled the game the night before, reports here said it was because a bigger than expected traveling support that started arriving in Dresden the night before the game and more were expected, because the Dresden ultras are one of the worst on the German football scene that worried the police and they called the game of, Leeds had to arrange a game where they went over the border to play!..

Don't ask me who against but it wasn't Dresden!..

I don't think this has anything to do with Farke, he might prefer games like this behind closed doors but I don't think he had a say!..

Germany - what are the reasons Leeds United are saying no fans can go to Germany tho?

Spit, its there to see, and was reported in Germany and England at the time!..

https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/cnvm5enpz46o

Can't see Farke having much to say against the German authorities!..

I am now hoping Leeds don't arrange anything here again!..

Wasn't 2020 during Covid?

posted on 29/7/25

so just so I'm clear here...

Kebab not believing the club's statement reported in the BBC, saying the club are 'lying' to us, because he actually thinks its Farke, due to some friendlies years ago for another team wanting the games behind closed doors?

- well, whatever ever floats your boat.

oh yeah !! - Farke started the virus tho mate, so that no fans couldn't come and watch, that's clearly what's happened here... lets always be looking to conspiracy, rather than face value.

all a bit flat earth is this .... been lied to for 4.6 billion years apparently

I’ve no idea.
Probably better to let these things go over my head but i just feel it’s all murky and as a season ticket holder forever who’s obsessed it just does not sit right. So much so that ive decided to boycott the Villarreal game so at least im £50 saved!
We are all different. Some like a dog and a bone!

fair play that Kebab, was actually being snarky with you a little, but I actually hear that... tbh, if you invest that much time and clearly money into watching us, where ever we play, then you will have different 'gripes' shall we say compared to the average fan

to the matter of the club lying, I mean, personally, I can't see it - what would be the point?, wouldn't the club just say DF wants it behind closed doors? why would they even need to lie about it?

and even if they have, it could have only been to protect some fans reactions towards the manager.. which in book, gets the 'ok'...

I think sometimes I spot 'lies' with a similar tone, or reason at work.. for example in our regular 'all hands' meetings to stop it being all pressure, pressure, pressure they'll draft in some bubbly lady "Hiiiiii, hope you guys dooooing?"... I reckon that a bit like the Air hostess on a plane "in the event of crash" etc, in a very calm and bubbly voice
