What until we play, they are going to chalk off a number of set piece goals

The rules are quite clear. But will we see consistency over the season? Or even the day? Doubt it.

The relevant law is 13.2 of the IFAB rule book:
"Where three or more defending team players form a ‘wall’, all attacking team players must remain at least 1 m (1 yd) from the ‘wall’ until the ball is in play."

To stop all the shenanigans there used to be at free kicks with attackers disrupting walls. Been part of the law for a while, but refs have been told to toughen up on it.

Isn’t it also the rule to give a penalty if a defending teams player has his hand/arm in an unnatural position?
Ie, Macallister v b’mouth
The people employed to enforce the rules are the problem

To make matters worse Palace should have a penalty at the end there the goalkeeper punches the back of Guehi's head before touching ball, standard officiating for this league, embarrassing.

Also a red card for the last man slapping the ball away.

Hmm. Guehi shoves defender out the way and Eze whacks it into that space. Not sure thats fair, think its a correct decision. But yes it would be nice if it was enforced consistently

That handball was a yellow, too much against it being a red for VAR to intervene. Ref had a shocker there though.

Don't think it was even deemed a foul

I was surprised at the rule tbh as well
I think we have all been so used to wall interference being part of the game. That said you couldnt technically do what Guehi did even in the days before this rule as he shoved a player

Regardless of the rule, I’m amazed it wasn’t given as a foul.

He's saying that while it's law, the referee should've been the one to ensure that Ghehi was 1m away from the wall
