Romano reporting in the last hour there are club to club talks going on about Garnacho and that Berrada has a good relationship with Chelsea staff. Hopefully this one gets done soon.

Looking at chelsea at the weekend I don't think maresco knows what to do with the players he already has. Don't see where Garnacho fits in

I predict them to be the underachievers of the season. They're signings don't scream huge improvement.

Sky Sports:
Latest from Sky Sports News' chief correspondent Kaveh Solhekol:
Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho has turned down a move to Bayern Munich.
The Argentina international wants to sign for Chelsea.
The 21-year-old does not want a loan move, and he wants Manchester United to agree a permanent deal with Chelsea.
posted 4 weeks, 2 days ago
Predictions:
Garnacho to Chelsea will happen (he wouldn't be holding out for that move if they hadn't given assurances).
Sancho will end up elsewhere but generating close to zero net gain for us (the more he prolongs this, the more pressure on United to compromise on our terms).
Antony will go on loan again (teams who want him can't afford him).

A wee bit surprised at Garnacho knocking back Bayern? Might be he wants Chelsea and fair enough but Bayern could have been a good destination for him

The fact we haven't sold a singe player this summer is pretty laughable. I know it's not straight forward and I'm sure we will sell one or two by the end of the window but considering how much dross we need to get rid of it's been pretty rubbish.
I read Garnacho wasn't called up to the Argentina squad recently, maybe that'll be the kick up the ar-e he needs to realise rotting in our reserves isn't going to help him get to the WC next summer and that he maybe needs to look beyond Chelsea.

" Antony will go on loan again (teams who want him can't afford him)."
This isn't necessarily true though. Betis have made €127m in sales this summer and Antony was easily their best player for the second half of last season. On top of that Isco is out injured for a few months so they need him. They're being tight ar-es and are hoping we fold because Antony has been very annoying in only wanting to move to them.
Really don't know what'll happen to Sancho, if the club feel that we'd be better off just cancelling his contract rather than rotting away and causing a stink then maybe we do that? Loaning him out and covering most his wages isn't that much different.

They will go on Sunday or Monday at end of month, not leaving any time for us to seriously try and get someone in, assuming it depends on that

Nothing is ever mentioned about pay-offs when they sell any of these players they've signed in the past 3 years.
They've got rid of a few of them that will have had 6/7 years left on their contracts. Pretty sure the players won't have voluntarily left and given up all of the money owing to them, but you never hear it.

-------------------
It is, but it's a pretty predictable consequence of our financial situation (other clubs know they can just wait until later in the window and exploit our need to shift high salaried deadwood at knockdown rates and favourable terms like loans with no obligations etc), and the fact we've been pants for so long.
Until we become good again this will continue.

Wages is why you can't shift players.

That applies to Rashford and Sancho, far less so to Antony, Garnacho or Malacia who aren’t on big wages.

Maybe he wants to prove himself in the EPL? All players are different, but I feel most obviously appreciate the high wages but also want to show they can cut it here. Maybe once you have shown that, or it's not just working out for you, you consider other options etc

I don't really blame a player for wanting to go to a specific club, play in a specific league or live in a specific country... We all have motivations in where we work.
posted 4 weeks, 1 day ago
I do if they genuinely care about a certain club or city but I've never heard of him having a soft spot for Chelsea? It's not even like he's a guaranteed starter at Chelsea and more likely than not they'll move him on in a couple years. Same with Antony, shows a lack of drive and desire to me being so set in a move to a team they don't really care about. Antony has been at Betis for a few months and now won't even enter the thought of going to someone else, it's ridiculous.
posted 4 weeks, 1 day ago
Did Antony push for the move or would he have been happy to stay and fight for his place. It seems to me he enjoyed his loan move to Betis and is happy to return on loan again and keep his contract with utd. It appears this is also the better option for betis.
