They’ve seen the mess we’re in now because of him and had a rethink. Prevention is better than the cure.

So out of Man Utd's previous 9 managers:

Ten Hag, Mourinho and Solskjaer all sacked within a week. Carrick and Van Nistelrooy sacked earlier in the summer. Rangnick and Van Gaal no longer in club football management. Giggs..no comment.

Only Moyes remains and doing well. Maybe he was the chosen one....

Quite impressive tbf as I assume he'll get a hefty pay off that Big Sam would be proud of....The massive rewards of failure!!!

They know a fraud when they see one. Quick and decisive no delaying the inevitable.

Solskjær, Carrick or van Nistelrooy might get a(nother) go at United before long.

Multiple league titles with Ajax.

6 Cup finals in 6 years. Across 2 different leagues. Winning 2 in the Netherlands, and 2 in England.

ETH is a decent manager. This Leverkusen fiasco comes across as a clash of philosophies - between a manager and the club bosses. Nothing to do with matters on the pitch.

The manager was sold a vision. But the club then went ahead and gutted the squad.

ETH will be back in the saddle soon enough.

----------

Ten Hag was furious because gutting the squad was supposed to be his job.

"........ Ten Hag was tasked with bedding in more than a dozen new signings before this season, having lost several key players in the summer......"

More than a dozen?

I thought Arteta had it bad with 8 new senior players.

No doubting he was very poor for us but you are using the word ‘fraud’ incorrectly for someone who won 3 League Titles and a couple of cups in the Netherlands and two cups in England.

Most managers will never win close to that in their lifetimes.

Why did they sign him then?

This reflects extremely poorly on the suits no matter which way you cut it.

Not sure winning 3 league titles with AJAX is that great of an achievement really VC. They are the stellar club of Holland and the league is absolute dross bar 3 to 4 clubs.

The league cup for us was also practically given to him on a plate. The toughest team we faced was Newcastle in the final.

Its only the FA cup where I think 'fair play' as we had to beat Liverpool and City to win it. But lets not forget we blew a 3-0 lead to Coventry in semi final and were 2cms from losing 4-3.

He was a disaster and the biggest reason was his player ID was 0 out of 10. Maybe that's the reason they have sacked him. Maybe they dont agree with players he wants to sign?

Iirc, when ETH took over Ajax hadn't won the league for 5 years. He also took them to the brink of a CL final, when for the best part of two decades they'd struggled to even get past the group stage.

The United job has been a poisoned chalice ever since Fergie left. Lest we forget, other more storied and successful managers than ETH have failed to restore you to your former glory. It's going to take something pretty special to break the curse.

Jealous they sacked him after 2 games, we should’ve done the same after Brighton & Brentford.

Nonsense!!

Nearly a decade of that was under Woodward, who is the real poison. He thought he was Gill. Woodward was an amateur of the highest order. The managers were not up to it, simple as.

Some we should’ve stuck with. I am still of the opinion we should’ve persevered with the Dutchman, LVG.

In 400 years, the ghost of SE85 will still be haunting the ja606 website, moaning 'ETH out'.
