They are a weird lot, it’s due to them being the only show in town they think they are massive.

In reality they are less relevant than West Ham over the last 70 years with only 1 proper trophy and won - the weakest one available.

Know a Newcastle fan at work who said it was terrible news for the Prem that Spurs were in this years CL because it would hurt us in the Co Efficient ranking because we’re rubbish - this after Spurs winning the Europa meant that they could scrape into the CL courtesy of finishing 5th. Reminded him we’ve been to 2 European finals in 6 years whereas his lot finished bottom of the group the last time they were in the CL. Khunts not mentioned it since

Really like Newcastle.

They’re a bit horrible to play against as they live a dive and a time wasting but as a club they’re fine and was really happy to see them win a trophy last year.

In fact, are you simply jealous that they had a better season last year?

I liked Newcastle, until they started kicking the shiiiiit out of us and getting away with it. Their fans have become weird since the takeover aswell.

Was still glad they won a trophy last season though. They deserved something after the mike Ashley years

I wouldn't call them a horrible club, they're decent....i think it's more that they seem to always go back to the 80's and they kick the shi out of us every time when we go there...they take the physicality to another level at St James park imo

Used to really like Newcastle but always found their fans to be pandered to by the media which feeds into their histrionics and delusion

Since the Saudis took over they've turned nasty and Jason Tindall looks like a right cant

was up there in 80's...bigg market and all that

I never really got the whole media spin about how great their fans were. Bit of a din in the stadium when they’re winning (like any club really) but pretty toxic a lot of the time as well.

You have cringe Lego head and Gabriel in your team.

Don't talk about being classy.

Arsenal fans lack of self-awareness is laughable.

Whiney, players and manager contesting every decisions, moaning players, moaning manager moaning fans, conspiracy theories, embarrassing diving, time wasting.

NUFC have nothing on Arsenal.

Another thing I would say about Newcastle is that they are not a big club, they aren’t a second tier club either. No league titles for 100 years, no FA cup for 70 years, no European trophy ever (faaack off with your Fairs cup - UEFA don’t recognise it) and 1 paltry league cup.

Sunderland have arguably been more successful than Newcastle with 6 titles and 2 FA cups - but the coverage Newcastle get ahead of them is ridiculous - similar sized ground, fan base, history

Newcastle have had numerous huge players come through the club, proper icons of football.

You can still be a big club without winning trophies, and Newcastle are precisely that. They been in the CL plenty over the years, and have had title runs also, coming second a few times.

I don’t see Sunderland doing any of that.

I like Newcastle as a club, it’s hugely connected with the community.

One thing that does surprise me about both Sunderland and Newcastle is the lack of youth players they bring through.

Again, West Ham have brought through far better players and more of them, they’ve had top players as well, they’ve won a European trophy and play in a big stadium.

They have strong community ties also.

They’ve not been in the CL but have won 1 Euro trophy and made the semis of the other the last few years.

I see very little difference in terms of size between Newcastle and West Ham.

Well you have to wonder about the scouting of both considering some of the players they’ve let slip through in an area where they are the not just the dominant sides but more or less the only show in town. From the top of my head:

Bobby Charlton
Colin Bell
Trevor Steven
Carrick
Shearer

Honestly I dont really mind Newcastle getting physical, there's no way to gatekeep how the game is played but in the past they have crossed the line without getting punished by the ref, which is frustrating, but if they're getting away with it you've gotta expect them to keep trying it.

Yeah Guimaraes and Joelinton are dirt and seem to get away with plenty.
