Really surprised Bowen attracted no interest in the summer, a quality player who would have improved most first 11s outside maybe the top 3.

Very important to win these kind of games comfortably now, but equally not lose our heads if the Hammers get a goal.

Agreed, top player. Annoys me that we didn't go for him when he was at Hull. Would probably have saved us a fortune on duds like Antony & Sancho.

Get the impression Bowen is settled at West Ham and didn't encourage any approach. Unless West Ham are relegated he is probably looking to stay for life.

Probably afraid of his father in laws reaction if he did push to leave.

He has a cushy life at West Ham, earns big money and the expectations are mostly mid table/euro push with a decent cup run.

He has won silverware there so is already a legend and already gets talked about when they are putting their greatest ever 11s together - he can do no wrong there. Touch of the Le Tissiers about him

I can understand it. I always wonder is the added pressure of playing for a big club really worth it for some players.

He probably already earns more in a week than the average person earns in a year.

Possibly, but anyone who's made it to the PL has obviously got incredible drive and dedication. There must be some temptation to prove yourself at the very top

Arteta said Big Gabby is ok. Dont risk anything if there is a slight doubt. We have a back up and options.

As long as we are winning I don't care of how many goals VG scoring. There will be questions if we can't continue to win games.

More than happy with VG contribution. I have to say I havent really expected him playing the way he does.

Is Martinelli due a start? 3 goals in his last 5 games and mainly coming off the bench. Not to mention huge contributions against Bilboa and City. With the players available I'm not really sure who would drop out for him but you'd think he must be knocking on the door if he keeps this up.

He started yesterday.

In a game in which we rested a number of players.

Think we can all agree that against West Ham we will go full strength and not rest anyone. Has he done enough in the last few games to be asking the question.

By definition, if Martinelli starts it's because someone is "rested" (if we're still thinking in such terms in today's squad-based approach).

Always a tricky one, think Trossard has been through similar patches of being a super sub then fairly average when starting.

Personally although Eze looks best through the middle I'd stick with him on the left for now - he hasnt had loads of minutes and he's too good to sit on the bench
