I would strongly suggest this is Salah's last year with us either way, so let's enjoy the ride. He certainly hasn't been at his best with us so far this season but he's had rough spells in the past, we've all been told he's washed up, and he's come back and smashed it.
He's probably the fittest player int he league, so not worried about that, but the team isn't functioning very well throughout.
However, he MUST do better with the chances he is getting.

10 goals and 10 assists and I'll be more than happy with Mo this season
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep. A declining Salah just makes him Saka
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Salah doesn't take corners to boost assist sats like Saka. His assists are in play assists.

Love Saka, but a poor Salah season is just a normal Saka one.

His job? Yeah.

More to a footballer than just that, though. Salah’s basically done what Ronaldo did where he’s anonymous in the match if he’s not getting goals and assists. Saka can still be the best player on the pitch if he doesn’t. Like a poor man’s Hazard.
posted 4 days, 4 hours ago
I think pretty much doubling Saka’s amount of G&A year on year is a major reason why Salah has a bulging trophy cabinet and Saka doesn’t though.
In fact, in terms of open play G&A I think Saka’s return is pretty poor, but I also think he’s going to get better and better (injuries permitting).

Lazy analysis.
Last season he changed his game and dictated games. He was our play maker and main goal threat. In his younger days he was a tare away winger who was up and down the pitch, dribble, shoot, score loads, assist and play make.

Yes, if Salah had a poor season, it would just be like a normal Saka one and sure, we can talk about all around play, but it’s clearly the G&A that make trophies. If Salah did go down to Saka’s level, we probably won’t win anything either.
I mean it’s all hypothetical, as Salah has never posted numbers that low for us.

There’s a middle ground. 47 goal involvements has a serious effect on games.

But you are saying it’s double Saka’s numbers when it isn’t.
Will be interesting to see if Saka can get back to his best after the injury issues he’s had anyway, and whether Arsenal having more attacking options will impact his numbers.
I don’t agree it’s just goals and assists that make numbers anyway, one player doesn’t win a title, which is why Salah only has two despite his numbers and Kane never won any in England.

Not sure why Saka has been dragged into this but some really weird takes on here

He is the nearest comparable RWF.
What’s the weird take(s)?
posted 4 days, 3 hours ago
Just think that the numbers given are a big disingenuous cos they don't take into account the time he missed or the very different stages of their careers.
That and the one about Salah dictating games.

It’s just plastic scousers on here being salty & firing barbs at Salah’s positional rival - Saka, cos they all know deep down their Egyptian king is waning at quite a rate 🍻😂
We’ve been here before with out of form Salah, people saying he’s washed/done whatever and he comes back better than ever. I still have faith.
Worst case scenario we’ve extended his contract to flog him to Saudi for an awful lot of money next summer though.

I did say last season that Salah would never repeat what he did again. I don’t think I’ve ever see one player win that amount of games single handedly. There was no way he could keep that standard going forever.
That being said, a ‘washed’ Salah is still one of the best players in Europe. You would still expect him to get 30+ goals/assists in all comps.
